The Knights have spent a couple of years now attempting to trace the source of a series of mysterious deliveries of crates to local businesses that contained monsters, marked 'PTC'.  They learned last year that PTC is a Trade Consortium, run by a man named Estavan, but that there was some kind of internal conflict between the Executive Officer and other partners, who were attempting to wrest control of the Consortium from him and might be sending the crates to customer who were remaining loyal to him.  Estavan has refused to meet with the Knights, and so Wynn has decided the Knights must take this into their own hands, and is sending a force to infiltrate his Estate while he is out of it.  Hopefully, they can find some paperwork that will help get to the root of the problem.  The isolated home is surrounded by a 12 foot high iron fence, which they know to be electrified, and the area is quiet as they approach.

[ however, in reality, he FINALLY gets it, the buzzing sound dying down as the fence becomes unelectrified. ]

[ Alec slides back into view of the group with a smile on his face. He reaches out to touch the fence and starts jerking around. He stops abruptly that grin just getting stupider. ]

Told ya I had it.

[Sigh.

Kate does not look impressed by the fake-out, but she will make her way closer to the gate, watching him for a moment before raising an eyebrow.]

Are you going to let us in or what?

[It's probably easier for him to open it from the inside than it is for her to try and pick the lock.]

What's the magic word, sweetheart?

[ You didn't think he'd be nice right, Kate? ]

[valdrin]

[ val'drin just positions himself to where he can see alec, folding his arms ] Fifteen years for breaking and entering. [ in other words, let's not stand around with our thumbs up our asses and get caught ]

[Kate raises her eyebrows at Alec and tips her head towards Val'drin as though to say "what he said."]

[ He stares at Val'drin before he nods. ]

Acceptable. [ He then gets the gate open for them before stepping back. ]

[valdrin]

Off to a smashing start, then. [ he saunters within as cordelia follows, and gestures to their fearless leader. ] After you.

[And Kate will nod before stepping her way inside, slowly making her way forward to avoid booby traps and see if there's anything interesting around (spot 22, listen 22).]

[ Alec falls into the group while rolling his eyes. He does keep an eye out for any fuzzy friends or anyone who might have realized the fence went down (spot 27, listen 21). ]

[ welp. while there is no one around, something does catch their attention as they head up to the front of the building.

the two statues of winged humanoids that were flanking the drive? abruptly one spreads their stone wings, roaring to life. it flies directly towards kate, slashing at her with sharp, stone claws (atk 23, dmg 2). at the same time, from the corner of their eyes, another statue explodes from its perch, attacking alec from the opposite direction (atk nat 20, dmg 4) ]

Are you for real?!

[ Fuck this stupid fucking house in the ass. He's so tired of this place. Electrocutes him. Security box is a dick. Now he's getting attacked by statues? He's so a hundred and ten percent done.

Once he recovers from that stupid attack he straightens up. Fuck you, winged dude. He swings at it (unarmed strike; 28 atk, 15 dmg). ]

[ alec's fist connects with the stonework hard, leaving a splinter through its facade from the impact. it rakes at him with both claws (atk 15, dmg 1 & atk 11, dmg 2) before snapping at him with granite fangs (atk 15, dmg 3).

the other continue slashing at kate (atk 20, dmg 11 & atk 19, dmg 1), ripping into her with a vicious bite, tearing a chunk out of her shoulder (atk nat 20, dmg 22) ]

Oh lovely. Can one day a statue just be a statue?

[ The Doctor, not one to actually, well, attack, votes instead for the distraction method. So he shouts at the top of his lungs. ]

Oi! You! Over here!

[Phineas backpedals a bit, unsure of what the best way to deal with this will be... He glances at his gun, but that would probably draw too much attention.]

At least it's not dragons.

[Hopefully this is a good decision - he's going to spend his round drawing out his chalk somewhere away from the action, and making a hasty pact with Amon.]

[ val'drin hesitates, clearly much less interested in drawing the attention of the gargoyles than the doctor over there. or uh, just determined to make sure his plan works, yeah. that one.

but he'll withdraw his excalibur and fire off one shot at the one that alec managed to splinter (atk 21, dmg 9). ] Oh yes. Thank heavens for small favors it's only murderous gargoyles.

[Yeah, Kate actually fared better against the dragons she's faced, to be honest, but she's really not in any position to debate that right now. While she manages not to pass out from the sudden assault (fort save 16), she knows she needs to force the gargoyle off her in order to give herself room to recover, and she reacts on instinct more than anyone else.

The temperature drops, her hand starting to ice over as an ice javelin forms and she launches it towards the gargoyle attacking her, hopefully impaling it somehow (ranged touch attack 27, cold damage 5). If it hits and the gargoyle doesn't have a cold subtype it needs to make a will save (DC 14) or take a cumulative -1 enchantment penalty to attacks, AC, and reflex saves for the next 24 hours or until healed.

And if that hits, she'll try and take a five foot step back to get the start of some distance.]

[ the javelin pierces right through the gargoyle, and its exterior slowly turns bluish as it slows slightly from the cold (will save 13). ]

Ugh, seriously? [ cordelia will pull her gun out of her purse a little clumsily, before taking aim at the one most people have been hitting. she hesitates too, but more because she clearly isn't used to shooting at things yet. it's probably not surprising that the shot goes nowhere near its mark (atk 9). ]

[ Being faster than the gargoyle is working in his favor. Because he manages to escape the claws and the granite teeth. Kate isn't so lucky though. She seems to fight back though with some freaky ass ice powers. Okay. He's officially done calling her sweetheart if she conjure up weather like it's nothing. All the hot ones have fucked up magic powers.

With Val'drin shooting at his gargoyle and Kate looking like shit he comes in from the side on her gargoyle (hoping to give her a chance to recover) and attacks with a single swing (unarmed strike: atk nat 20 with 33 total dmg 28). ]

[ well that sure draws the gargoyle's attention off kate, when it gets CLOCKED hard enough to send a matching splinter across its surface. it turns towards him and launches into him, one claw slices well past his head (atk 9) allowing him to duck the next with even more ease (atk 8). he even manages to draw back from its teeth gnashing down at him (atk 21).

the other gargoyle, heavily injured, turns its attention towards the doctor, rising up on stone wings, and careening down towards him to swipe at his torso with those claws (atk 20, dmg 7 if it hits) ]

[ The Doctor, made of limbs that he is, manages to dash off to the side, avoiding the blow of the gargoyle. Good, he thinks, best to keep it occupied. ]

Oh come on, is that the best you've got? You could at least try! Frankly, it's just rude.

[Well, this shit is getting intense. Phineas stands up from his little chalk circle sporting curling horns, and turns to spit a line of fire at the Gargoyle that's chasing after the Doctor. 24 Fire damage - Reflex save DC 17 for half damage.]

[valdrin]

[ fitfully distracted as it is, the gargoyle doesn't so much as try to dodge... and the line of flame consumes the stone monster, rendering it naught but ash.

val'drin levels his weapon at the one still standing (atk 20, atk nat 20! dmg 38) which actually... blows its head right off, and the rest of it crumbles to the ground.

[There's a grateful look to Alec once the gargoyles are down, and Kate takes a step back to try and recover a bit, taking two of the cure moderate wounds potions she brought with her (+16 HP). She was in really bad shape, okay?]
