Just as before, accessing the secret room where the Round Table is housed requires using the Knight's keycard to open the glass case beside the mural of the War in Heaven, located across from the ballroom entrance. Using the fire extinguisher as a lever to activate the "door" mechanism reveals the long torch-lit hall plastered in artwork depicting the Knight's history. The tenants of the Knighthood hang large and foreboding over the doors at the end of the hall, which stand open to reveal the brightly lit Round Table, and the majestic crystalline dragon statue presiding over it.

Come in, find a seat, meet your teammates if you haven't already somehow.

[And it looks like Sawyer and Oscar are the first to roll in for the briefing. The half-elf slipping into a seat and keeping the ferret - who is half draped across her shoulder - from getting into mischief by bribing him with bacon.]

[Jo has a bottle of water in hand as she enters the meeting. She sets it down on the table, but immediately regrets it, picking it up and using the bottom of her shirt to wipe away the ring of water droplets that had been left behind. Cold water is cold. She'll just hold onto it and is that a ... ferret? Is someone magically turned into a ferret or is that just a pet. Pet or companion animal? Jo is gonna keep an eye on that. Mostly, because she doesn't want to start questions and then the room fill up with her being nosy.]

[ abigail strolls in quietly, head down and texting her bf who she probably just left outside the doors. oh youths. she settles in a seat silently. ]

[And zipping right past Stiles in a flash of red and gold is Barry who is going to zip in right behind Abigail, not wanting to be late but only just barely so.

Because he's Barry. Let's look at his username.

And he'll skid to a stop once he's inside and flash all these ladies a grin.]

[ eric walks in immediately after, raising an eyebrow at barry's abrupt appearance over there. ] Should you be running like that in the halls?

[ abigail snorts, commenting with quiet amusement without looking up, ] No running in the halls.

[Barry glances over and gives a small shrug.]

Probably not. But I didn't want to be late.

[Because he has a habit of it. Literally all the time.]

You're all quite on time, Sir Allen. No need to worry. [ wynn waltzes in behind eric, moving around the table as they find their seats ] Thank you all for coming.

[ FINE. abigail will look up now, eyes lifting from her phone finally as she pockets it to pay attention to wynn. ]

[Barry will also quietly slide into the nearest available seat, folding his hands in front of him with a nod.

Let's do this. First official briefing. He isn't really sure what to say, so he'll just wait for Wynn to begin.]

You'll be heading to a small town in the American West, known as Sagebrush. Glen McCray, the town's marshal, has contacted us due to an outcry from the citzenry regarding the deaths of three citizens in the last three weeks, by a beast unknown. One was the town's mayor, the second a wealthy merchant who was running for the position after the mayor's death. The third was a local cattle driver.

McCray has begun to suspect that the creature is not some type of local wildlife, but rather a creature of Shadow origins.

So that's a maybe on chupacabra.

[ she leans forward because honestly, this mission actually sounds really cool? is he sending them to the third back to the future movie??? are they going to be deputized? is she finally going to be able to unearth her cowboy boots?? ]

[supertardiness]

[Barry's totally interested too. This mission already sounds awesome.]

Do you know anything about how the bodies were found? Or photos from the crime scenes?

[Can he ask for those in a briefing?]

The marshal has agreed to meet with you when you arrive to share any of that information. All he's reported to me is that they were originally thought to be wild animal attacks, and that the bodies were found in locations that would support that.

[incantatio]

[Sawyer has already tensed the moment she hears 'small town USA'. Can't imagine why.]

Are they asking us to apprehend or kill the possible person responsible? [What?! There's a difference okay.]

[wynn]

They're leaving that to our discretion, depending on what the actual nature of the problem is. I will leave that to you and to Sir Carpenter, who will be acting as mission leader.

[ eric sits up a little straighter in his chair at that, suddenly looking them over with new eyes. YOU'RE SUBORDINATES NOW. TIME TO SIZE YOU UP. ]

[That's good with Barry. He's not too fond of killing people either unless he has to. He nods his agreement with Wynn's assessment, and he's already itching to get into the field.

Impatient, thy name is Allen.]

When would you like us to leave?

[wynn]

As soon as possible. You've a flight later this evening.

[incantatio]

[Sawyer nods as if to accept Wynn's response as good enough for her, her gaze sliding to whom she presumes is Eric and... welp, frankly sizes him up too. She doesn't know you either, Eric!]

Guess we should get packing. [ looking at wynn like yo can we dip then? ]

Make sure you all bring any supplies you think you may need.

[Barry nods. Time to stock up a forensics kit and make sure he can get his suit back from Tony should he need it.]

See you tonight. [ abigail hops up and moves to head out. gonna go collect her many weapons and also some potions because her florence nightingale shit doesn't always cut it. ]
