[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies. This takes place after the Knights have returned from Dimitris' wedding.

You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. WE ARE BIG ON THREAD-JACKING HERE. Um. He's... [ ...ukw. nope, solas doesn't seem like the type to be intimidated so. ] Oh! I'm pretty sure our Solace is his bestie, so. Be prepared for the side eye at your name or to be bestie numero dos.

[ Solas also doesn't know what Spanish is, what is this gibberish?

Still, he manages to be polite as he gives them both a slight bow in thanks. ]

You have my gratitude for the escort. I appreciate it.

[ Straightening, he glances at the door curiously a moment before lifting his hand to knock. ]

No problemo.

[He's sticking with the Spanish theme, and is just going to stick around to make sure Hasmed opens the door and they can explain who Elf Solas is in comparison to Cleric Solace.

It's bound to get confusing, they have the same hairstyle.]

[ they'll hear the dragon's fire leader speak up from within: ]

[ the room is lit with candles that drip wax onto their holders messily. large, ancient looking books cover many surfaces, and all around the room are disturbing items, many of which are difficult to decipher. disturbingly shaped mini statues that might be animals, but don't look quite right... jars full of things that look like they are swimming around in cloudy liquid... strange powders in bags, boxes lining shelves, jars and vials... hasmed stands behind his desk, his back to them, sorting through some parchments ] What is it?

[ Solas steps into the room, his gaze taking in his surroundings with a quick skim before focusing on the man he had been led here to meet. His expression is mildly curious and polite as he pauses a few steps inside the doorway. ]

Ser Hasmed? I am told you might be able to assist me.

[And to be helpful, Shawn will clarify:]

This is Solas. He just got here - through a mirror.

[And if that doesn't catch Hasmed's interest enough, he will continue, but he thinks that will work.]

He has questions about the Veil.

Shawn's not actually making that up, either. Literally came through a mirror.

[ because shawn's a dweeb and prone to exaggerations, alice doesn't want that part to get lost in translation. ]

[ welp. that gets his attention. he turns to study the elf and while solas would recognize some features that are notably elven about him - his ears in particular - he also looks unusually old for an elf, and what's more unusual, has reptilian slitted eyes, and a flattened nasal ridge that are both markedly serpentine in appearance. ] Through a mirror, you say?

[ Solas steps forward, eyes taking in the man before him in open curiosity before offering him a slight, polite bow, bending with just the right degree of deference in his posture. ]

Indeed. In my world, such devices enchanted for passage are called Eluvians. This was not the destination I had in mind when I passed through the one that led me here, but something seems to have interfered with my journey.

The Veil. Probably.

[Because that's the obvious answer.]

Yeah, we can roll out. [ already fucking backing out tbh. ]

[ Solas offers them both a bow as they back out of the room, his gaze flitting to both of them before they depart. ]
