[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.  This takes place after the Knights have returned from Dimitris' wedding. 

You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. WE ARE BIG ON THREAD-JACKING HERE. You can also specify 'single thread', meaning you want only one response for all participants, rather than multi-thread, where a number of different scenes/threads can be done as replies to the top prompt.]

Well, that's mortifying. I promise I'm not usually this ... breakable.

[recruited]

It's okay if you are. [ He smiles. ] Next time I'll try to pull some punches. I don't think it'd be wise if I knocked you out more than once.

[hacker]

No. [ fervently, almost too fervently; ] Don't. Like, ever. Believe me; it's better I get knocked out by you while we're training than out there when it's someone who could ... I don't even want to think about it. Hell, there are some people here I wouldn't want a minute alone with while I was unconscious. I need this.

[recruited]

[ That's kind of a weird response, but it makes Steve worried. ]

Who are you not comfortable with? [ Because Steven will have a very stern talking to with them. If that doesn't work he'll just knock them out too. ]

[hacker]

I don't ... [ Daisy backs off, deflates visibly. ] I didn't mean that. Not anyone specific, at least, just that ... I don't know everyone, and sometimes, even the good guys aren't what they seem to be.

[recruited]

Are you sure there's no one that's making you uncomfortable?

[ Cue the large patriotic angry dad look. Look, he will beat everyone's ass that looks at her funny. ]

[hacker]

[ She looks down, won't meet his gaze as she says, ] I'm sure.

[recruited]

[ You are dealing with Captain Caring (sense motive 22). ]

I'm a pretty good listener.

[hacker]

[ yeah she's

Skye hunches her shoulders, shrugs them, glances away, and finally looks back up at him and sighs. ]

Wynn trusts him, so I should too. That's the line, right?

[recruited]

Yeah. That's the line, but I think it's up to us and how we feel. Wynn can trust them, but that doesn't necessarily make him right?

[ He's not sure how he'd feel if Brock Rumlow or Red Skull showed up here to play nice. He assumes it's someone pretty shady from her life. ]

Who is he?

[hacker]

[ Her gaze drops and she shrugs her shoulders. ]

I don't know. Some ... stalker, I guess. He knew me, said he knew my work. I used to hack for this big time anarchist civil rights group, the Rising Tide, so it's not surprising.

[recruited]

[ That hand that Steve has on her to keep her steady shifts. Instead he lifts his arm up to wrap around Sky'e shoulders. ]

No one is gonna be angry with you if you don't feel comfortable around him. Or if you don't wanna chance a mission with him. If he's ever around and bothering you--call me. That's not to say you can't take care of yourself--but it's always good to have backup.

[hacker]

I'm beginning to realize I've got a lot of that here. [ And she smiles, grateful. ]

[recruited]

[ He smiles at her. Remembering their talk on that date. About the orphanages and being the last one of his group. ]

We're not alone anymore, Skye.

[hacker]

[ Her expression softens, and though she nods, it's the nod of someone who wants to believe what he's saying, rather than someone who already believes it. ]

I'm trying to believe it.

[recruited]

Well, whenever you feel like maybe you're having a hard time believing it then just come find me. I've been known to get very into speeches.

[hacker]

[ She pulls her lower lip between her teeth, and after a moment of visible struggle, nods. ]

Thanks, Steve. You're genuinely one of the good ones, you know that?

[recruited]

That's what they keep telling me, but maybe you're onto something.

[ He smiles. ]

Let's get you to the clinic huh?

[hacker]

[ She nods dumbly and stands, following after him with a certain sheepishness in her steps, as if ashamed by the visit. She's making a habit of this. ]

[ Steve whisks her off to get looked after. The end? ]
