[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies. This takes place after the Knights have returned from Dimitris' wedding.

You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. WE ARE BIG ON THREAD-JACKING HERE. You can also specify 'single thread', meaning you want only one response for all participants, rather than multi-thread, where a number of different scenes/threads can be done as replies to the top prompt.]

Poe glanced over and smiled, and then held out the bowl. "I believe that's what it's called. I can't really read the screen with the words - still learning your letter system for words."

"It's a good show." She won't comment on his inability to read, or lack thereof. It's a common problem coming through the Veil and most of them pick it up sooner or later. "I used to watch it when I was a kid."

"I don't really remember what I watched as a kid. But I can tell that this kind of tech isn't what I would have watched it on. We had holos. But if there was a holo of this kind of show, I would have been all over it."

"Holos?" Malina frowns as she leans back against the couch curiously. "Like holograms? How did that work?"

"Yeah. you guys call it something like four D? It projects from the bottom and displays in the air above the projector."

"Oh." She makes a small face at that before shaking her head. "I've never really been a plan of 3D. I mean, my life is enough of an action-adventure movie as it is. I don't need the fake ones trying to convince me that this could happen in real life."

She's already all too aware that it could.

"I like to keep my distance, if that makes any sense."

"No, I get it. I mean, I'm still trying to get used to this flatness." He waved his hand at the screen. "My eyes have a hard time adjusting when it first starts."

She nods in agreement. "I get that. Everyone always has a hard time adjusting to something new."

"I figure I'll get there. I mean, gotta adapt, right?"

She nods in agreement with a small smile. "Everyone does. And you'll get there eventually - it'll just take a little time."

"Well, time I got. As long as I don't get shot again."

She makes a face in agreement. "I wouldn't get your hopes up. Getting shot tends to happen more often than you think on these missions." There is a beat as she shakes her head. "I got shot three times on my mission in Guadalajara."

"I guess it keeps those healers in business, huh?"

She laughs a bit at that before nodding. "We do have the Dragon's Light for a reason, I guess."

"Well, hopefully next time, things will go better." And he will not split up from the party.

"We always learn from our mistakes, after all." She reaches for another handful of popcorn as she leans back in her seat. "Did you get to go anywhere fun?"

"The Philippines. It was... different than here."

She nods slowly as she considers that. "I haven't been to the Philippines. Most of my jobs have been in South America or up north."

"Up north where? I'm still learning the map here."

"Siberia. I was tracking a creature that survives best in cold water." She sighs as she leans back. "Unfortunately, that took a very long time to track down."

"Aw, did you at least remember to pack warm socks?"

She laughs. "Yeah. We had plenty of packing time, thank God."

He laughed as well. "Good." And he will look down at his popcorn bucket. "I think I need a refill..."

She nods a bit, before glancing over and grabbing the remote. "If you do that, I'll go queue up the next one?"

"Can do. Want me to grab you something to drink? Some of those chocolate covered wrinkly grape things?"
