[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.  This takes place after the Knights have returned from Dimitris' wedding.

[alex spends his fair share of time in the dragon's light wing, mostly after things like vicodin and valium. since he'd received one too many stern faces and possibly talkings-tos from solace after helping himself, he now tries to be good and wait for actual dragon's light members to be around and dispense them to him.

but instead of dragon's light members to bother, there's just ... this guy. he gives him a once-over, sizing him up. eh, not bad. maybe a bit of a fixer-upper. hopefully not as much of a fixer-upper as topher turned out to be, bless his spastic heart.]

You're new. [not a question, just a statement, as if he expects an introduction to follow this observation.]

[Rory turns at the sound of the other man's voice, before nodding his agreement because yes. He is new. And Alex's expectations will be met in response, because Rory is a polite human being and knows that most people probably don't want a stranger wandering around.]

Yeah. Rory Williams - I was just recruited.

[he squints a little, because the name sounds familiar, but he can't really recall from where so it's probably nothing.] Oh yeah? Where'd they pick you up?

[It's probably not the most exciting story, but it's Rory's story, so he's rolling with it.]

[he quirks an eyebrow like wtf] Well. That's not one I've heard before. Anyway, welcome. I'm Alex. You hurt or something or are you gunning for Light?

The latter. I'm a nurse.

[Which he happens to be very good at.]

You need help with something?

I need a prescription filled. [but he says it as an afterthought bc he's busy thinking about] Y'know, that's ... do you know someone named Amy?

[He doesn't know if he should be filling prescriptions, so he's grateful for the subject change.]

[he was not actually expecting that to work. huh.] Think so. Red hair?

[He nods in agreement.]

[He cuts himself off before he says the wrong word and course corrects.]

Uh-huh. She told me some about you.

She did?

[And given that he's seen Amy at this point he can't help but ask whether it was actual information or misinformation that was spread here.]

What did she tell you, exactly?

[blandly] Not much, just that you're her gay nurse friend.

Yeah ... unfortunately the Veil didn't let her get that quite right.

Which part?

Mostly the gay part. And the part where she's engaged to Jeff.

[ambitionist]

[he is the face of disappointment.] Aw man, I was hoping it was — wait, who's Jeff?

[i'm pretty sure she told him about jeff he just willfully forgot.]

A friend. The guy she thinks she's engaged to.

[He shrugs.]

Weird. I guess the Veil really fucks shit up sometimes.

[He shrugs.]

It's not like it's the first time she's thought that. It just took away her finding out otherwise, I suppose.

How do you get confused over who you're engaged to?

[mr_manners]

[He gives a small shrug.]

The Veil? I'm not really sure how it all works.

[ambitionist]

Yeah, man, me either. They've got people who like study that shit professionally, like scientists and shit, and still nobody really knows how it works.

[He makes a face.]

Well, there's a lot I remember that she doesn't.
