[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.  This takes place after the Knights have returned from Dimitris' wedding. 

You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. WE ARE BIG ON THREAD-JACKING HERE. Giving my all is precisely what my friends don't want me to do. I've had a few moments where the urge to heal was so strong that I nearly followed my patient through the void and into the next life.

That would be inadvisable. Your ability to heal is a gift, but as in all things with magic, balance is needed. Knowing your own limitations is something of utmost importance to any of us with the ability to shape magic to our whim.

It's something that took time for me to learn. I'm much more in control now. But sometimes, it's hard not to want to trade their life for mine. If you could save someone you hold dear, wouldn't you find it difficult to hold back to save your own life?

Yes. [ He finally gives her the simple answer, meeting her gaze over the counter. ] But you might also take into account the others you could be able to save if you save some of yourself back. The fact that they might be dear to someone else without your ability to save them. Not to mention the one you hold dear no doubt holds you dear in return. Would you want them to sacrifice their everything for you and then have to go on without them? It is a lonely thought on either side of the equation.

It's an impossible choice. But one I have faced more times than I can count. I enjoy my work. I am thrilled to have this gift that I can share with my family. But it can be strenuous.
