[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.  This takes place after the Knights have returned from Dimitris' wedding. 

You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. WE ARE BIG ON THREAD-JACKING HERE. He shakes his head. He's never really been the weight lifting type, but he will wander over and test the weight and balance on some of the swords. "Never really been my style. Ever used one of these?"

"Not really. At least not that I remember." He watched Rory carefully. "You?"

[mr_manners]

He nods in agreement, giving his sword a gentle swing. "I was a Roman centurion once. It was another lifetime ago, really, but some things you don't really forget."

"I don't know what that is." The story of his life.

[mr_manners]

"A soldier." It's a simpler way of explaining things, rather than launching into an entire explanation about who the Romans were. "Of a very powerful empire - or an empire that used to be powerful, a long time ago."

"So you're like a Jedi?"

[mr_manners]

He pauses, blinking for a moment before tipping his head to the side. "Sorry, what's a Jedi?"

"They are an old time warrior from my world. Lots of rules, long history."

[mr_manners]

He considers for a moment, before nodding. "... A bit like that, yeah. Romans conquered a large part of Europe at one point, before their empire fell."

Poe thinks, then nods. "Yeah, that comparison holds up then."

[mr_manners]

"Interesting." Rory gives a small shrug. "I guess some things are ... universal, no matter what world you're from."

[newgenwraith]

"Yeah, pretty much. People fear things they don't understand. Battle of good verses evil. Where can a guy get a strong cup of caf."

[mr_manners]

There's a beat before he tips his head to the side. "Is that a question about caffeine, or a never ending challenge?"

"Never ending challenge. But if you know a place I would love the coordinates."

[mr_manners]

Rory nods a bit. "In England, we prefer tea over coffee, but it honestly surprises me that Starbucks hasn't been outted as an alien conspiracy trying to take over the world yet."

It happened with a fad diet company before he came through the Veil. Anything is possible.

"That is to say, that seems to be the global choice for good caffeine."

"Tea. That's the stuff where you drink flower leaves, right?" He wrinkled his nose a bit.

"If you want to be overly literally about it, yes." Rory says with a smirk. "But coffee is made from ground up plant beans, so you can't really say there's much of a difference."

[newgenwraith]

"Chocolate also comes from beans. I'm kinda leaning to the whole beans side of the argument."

[mr_manners]

Rory laughs. "My point is - lots of foods on earth come from plants. Just because they're made from one doesn't mean they're not good for you."

[newgenwraith]

"Alright, point taken. But, just because it's good for you doesn't mean that it tastes good."

[mr_manners]

"Probably true. But that just means you need to find the right tea."

[newgenwraith]

Poe laughed and leaned forward. "How about this? You find me a strong cup of tea with caffeine that can compare to caf, and I'll drink it."

[mr_manners]

"Challenge accepted." He smirks a bit as he leans back into is seat. "I'll pick some up in town later."

[newgenwraith]

"Good times." And Poe stood up to stretch. "I should probably hit the showers. See you later?"

Rory nods in agreement. "Yeah, see you around." And off he'll go to continue his grand tour of the castle.
