The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

Sure. Well, I mean, technically, Wynn is totally buying everyone's drinks, but. [ There's a small pause, as something clicks into place. ] Wait. You're Cisco? Like friends-with-Barry-Allen Cisco?

I'm preeeeeeetty sure the words "My buddy Cisco" are his most favorite thing ever. [ A beat. ] Okay, second favorite. First would be pretty much any type of food.

Really? [ Aw, he's touched. ] Now I've got to buy you that drink so you can dish on everything he's said about me.

[ She grins. ] It's all been good, I promise. He talks about you and ... Caitlin? Often. I would swear you all were family more than friends.

Yeah, Caitlin. [ He smiles, fond. ] We kind of are, really.

That's so cool. Family you choose, that's kinda what you get around here, too. No matter what division you join.

Cool, cool. What all are the divisions, again? I kind of missed that part.

Okay, so. [ As she goes through them, she ticks them off on her fingers. ] There's the Dragon's Hide, which are your fighters. There's the Dragon's Tongue, the "diplomats" and smooth talkers. The Dragon's Fire, that's magic users and psions. Dragon's Light, those are the healers and stuff, magical, divine, or conventional. The Dragon's Hoard. [ Here, she grins. Guess which one Dawn belongs to. ] Scientists, linguists, researchers, hackers. There's also the Freelancers who don't fit into just one division.

And then there's the Dragon's Claws. The best of the best of the best. They're handpicked by Wynn, and there's only ever two at a time. Right now, we're just down to one.

What? [ She does her best "offended" impression. ] I'm Hide. Look at me, don't I look like the type that can swing a giant battle ax and decapitate three at once?

[ Dawn, you look like the type to break a sweat just saying battle ax. ]

No, I'm totally Hoard.

[ He smiles and raises his eyebrows at her. ]

Giant battle ax, though? Really?

Well, the battle axes aren't standard issue. Now that? That's the Excaliber, and yes, like the sword from King Arthur. It's a gun, and everyone gets one when you go through orientation. [ Pause. ] I'd show you mine, but it's in my room. Holster doesn't really go with this dress, you know?

[ She smiles brightly. ] But there are some axes and Hide members that wield them. There's, like, a rack of them in the training room.

I think I'll stay out of the training room. I would just embarrass and-or hurt myself with an ax.

Well, there's more than just axes. They're a little like bowling balls, though. You gotta find the one that fits you the best.

Of course there's guns. I'd make a joke abou America and the Second Amendment, but... we're in England.

[ He smiles but then his smile vanishes as his mind runs wild. ]

[ He ran into some snake people when he got here. Anything's possible. ]

No! I think you're totally safe from that. I mean, I haven't seen anything like that, and I've fought a Shelob-sized spider.

[ Not alone, but who needs that detail? ]
