The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ ah, good. her acceptance of crane's arm does quite a bit to calm his nerves. something as easy as allowing him to communicate in the manner of his comfort makes him feel a bit less displaced. ]

Well. The accommodations are-- [ is that a hitch as he tries to not bitch about everything ever? why yes, yes it is. ] Exemplary.

[ crane moves at his companion's pace, with no seeming destination in mind, content to amble about the large room and its inhabitants. ]

[She nods, also content to meander with no particular destination, finding the act in itself to be soothing, a welcome distraction from the buzz of the rest of the party.]

It's all a bit much, isn't it? Or it seemed so at first.

[Even with her memories of Skyhold, the Knights' castle was something else entirely. Skyhold had been a hollowed out shell that the Inquisition had built upon, shaped into something their own, but this place reminded her more of some of the architecture she'd seen in Orlais.]

The place is so big, I'm still not certain I remember where everything is.

[ ashelia's honesty seems to pull a sigh of relief from crane-- somehow he stands taller as this weight is lifted from him. ]

I find most of the pomp insufferable. [ ooh how naughty! crane can't help the satisfied smirk that stretches across his face as he speaks the awful truth. ]

[Ichabod Crane, you're terrible, but also instantly her new favorite. Her smile hitches wider, and she ducks her head in a little bit so that she can keep her voice lowered, conspiratorial.]

It's all so formal. Very nice, of course, but I'm not certain anyone needs so many rooms.

[A few tents and aravels are more than enough, aren't they? Although there are some things about more modern living that she's already come to love, such as the regular availability of hot baths.]
