[ The Knights fly on Wynn's order to Riyadh, a dust-steeped collection of elaborate skyscrapers and flashing lights that looks to be the closest Saharan analogue to Las Vegas. Dunes stretch out around the endless, otherwise level horizon where giant, clouded dust storms threaten.

Their target, for all the boons he has bestowed on the local populace, has been enjoying a charmed life in one of the Ritz-Carlton, an anachronism of culture that more closely resembles the White House than any structure that belongs in Saudi. It isn't difficult to pinpoint where he might be harbored - lines of people choke the halls en route to the ballroom, craning their necks to try to see in, and cutting off any easy access to the location. ]

Whoa, hold up, do we really have to go the wish route. Because those always go bad. Always.

[She does not want to get caught up in a wish cycle right now, and she doesn't want to have to put Jordan through that either. If she could yank the lamp away from him magically, she would, but she doesn't think mage hand would work.

But maybe someone else's might. Wanda's got some kind of psychic abilities and Caroline is faster and stronger than she is. And if all else fails, maybe the distraction will be enough to let her get to it.]

[ Loki shouts the command, and though it lacks any spell to accompany it, there isn't a spellcaster in the room who wouldn't be able to feel the way his aura pulsed as though threatening to boil over with it. He turns his attention from Malina to Jane. ]

I know you came here hoping to find my brother. When we're through here, I hope you do. Will you still care for him, I wonder, when you see him the way I do?

[ He tightens his grip on the lamp and lifts it up, belittling Jordan with a gaze. ]

I wish for a world that sees Almighty Thor as I do: unworthy of his rule, his power, his simpering adulation. Make it a world where all serve at the altar of the Great Lord Loki. Make me a king among kings, and I will rule Midgard as it deserves to be ruled.

[ is he for realsies? caroline suspects he is because #men, but maybe this is all an elaborate joke. ]

[Her eyes widen further and she looks from Lokie to the genie apparently now under his command, her expression pleading, even though she knows it's essentially a lost cause.]

[Malina's eyes also drift to Jordan, but unlike Jane she knows he doesn't have any choice. He's going to be casting this wish whether he wants to or not, and her face turns sympathetic for a moment.]

I'm sorry. We'll fix this.

[Does she know how? No not so much. But fuck if she's going to quietly let Loki take over the world. She also, though, might be sorry for this because if she has the chance, she's going to try and cast lightning bolt at ... Jordan. Because she has a feeling an incapacitated genie can't grant a witch (damage 24 with a DC 17 reflex save for half if she actually manages to get it off, caster check 21 if it applies).]

[He doesn't even flinch as the lightning bolt actually just seems to kind of absorb right into Jordan, and he gives Malina a look of sadness and defeat. Then he focuses once more on Loki, head bowing in resignation as he lifts his hands, the fall of glitter and wind picking up once more in front of him.]

[The air whips into a small whirlwind in front of the two of them, gaining strength as it grows in size to reach the ceiling. Jordan's eyes blaze that trailing blue once more as the wind finally begins to subside, the glitter mixed with it covering everything and everyone in the room as the miniature storm settles...]
