This had seemed like a dream job when Ben first started. Working for a secret organization? Cool. Working for a secret organization of knights? SO cool. Working for a secret organization of superhero knights? So cool the Starks would need to get an extra sweater.
In hindsight, he should have realized that if the secret knight superheroes possessed the powers of fiscal responsibility, he wouldn't have been hired. It's taken him weeks to sort through the backlogs of credit statements, bills, mission reports, and other paperwork. At some point, in a fit of frustration, he taped a hand written sign that reads Dragon's Headache under the sign in front of his office door. He's pretty sure he deserves his own sect for all the work he's doing.
Finally, though, he's gotten through the backlog and now comes the fun part. Making people cry. Man, he wishes he had Chris here to be so friendly and make everyone feel good and not want to punch Ben in the face. But unfortunately the powers that zapped Ben into a fantastic dimension where magic is real did not take requests. But he's got this. He's sent out notices to everyone who's mission spending has been overly frivolous, he's made the appointments, now it's time to give them the bad news.
When you enter his office, he's got a file waiting for you. His office is very professional, boasting bland furniture, bland walls, a potted plant, and... okay, there's also a framed poster on the walls, but that's all the personality he's allowed to show.
"Come in, have a seat," he says, looking up without smiling. "We've got a lot to talk about."
