The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Man, Han isn't even pretending he's here to celebrate the latest batch of recruits. He is at the food table, piling a plate high, a flask already filled with whiskey, and eyeing the exits already. He hasn't even bothered to take off his beaten up old leather jacket. He pauses, slipping one of the snacks under the table where Chewie lies waiting. Now all he has to do is make his way out without anyone stopping him and he can go have a party without anyone bothering him. It's the best plan he's ever had.]

[There's someone else with a similar idea about hoarding lots of food. Spoilers: it's Jade. But she's got a plate solely dedicated to anything with chocolate in it.]

I'm glad to see that a swanky place like this gets the good stuff. [Again, she's focused on the chocolate. It's important okay.]

Do you always feed the floor? Or are you just stashing more for yourself later?

Floor ain't gonna feed itself. [The tablecloth might be wagging. Han won't tell if she doesn't.]

Is there a rule against pets that I don't know about? [Not calling him out but also not ignoring it. What's the deal, man???]

Nope. [Han's just a smuggler and sometimes old habits die hard.] Else I'd be hiding him better.

So why hide him at all?

I ain't. He's just sitting under the table. Ask him why if you want.

[ sitting at the table next to him, kadir definitely catches that, and leans back slightly ] You know, they let familiars in here. You probably don't have to hide him.

[Han shrugs, smuggling more food under the table. Old habits die hard.]

This ain't hiding him. If I was hiding him, you'd know by how you'd never realize he's there.

He just likes a security blanket?

[parsecs]

Heh. [Chewie pokes his head out from under the table and bumps his head against Kadir's leg, giving him a look that can only possibly mean feed me please.] I think he just doesn't like the thought of sharing.

If I give him something, is he gonna start following me around?

Depends on how good a something it is. One way to find out, though.
