The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[The vast majority of the ladies he's met in his life wear armor, okay. He probably hasn't even seen their faces much.]

Uh, yeah. Sure. [An awkward beat before he gives her the short version.] I was on a ship that crash landed in the Sinking Fields on the planet Jakku. All I managed to get from the wreckage was this jacket before the sand swallowed it up. It belonged to the pilot, who I thought was still inside.

Jakku? [ her eyebrows jump up. ] That's where Rey is from!

[Okay he did NOT expect anyone to know about Jakku.]

Wait, Rey is here!?

Yes! ...I don't know if she's here here right now, she was just on a mission and I don't know if she's coming to the party. [ before she's like "i know where her room is" though, she questions: ] How do you know Rey?

She's my...friend.

[One of the first true friends he'd ever made. She was important.]

I met her on Jakku.

Oh, you poor lamb. [ don't worry, finn, she doesn't even have to go to jakku to know that she would have been on your side about definitely not going back. ]

A lot of the people that come here come through the veil so, we've got that in common. I mean, I had to get used to the fact that magic is apparently a thing. Wanna know a secret? [ she leans in slightly. ] Totally not used it.

It reminds me of the Force. [A beat.] In that I have no idea how it works or...anything at all really.

[But mystical force that can do all sorts of crazy things? Seems about the same to him.]

[People don't usually agree with him on stuff like that, so he looks pretty pleased by that.

He tilts his head toward the food buffet nearby.]

So, do you have a favorite? I'm not exactly sure where to even start.

I'm a sucker for these mini grilled cheese bites, they come with little tomato soup shooters. Adorable. [ she points out the hor d'oeuvres section, scooping up a shot glass of soup and skewering a grilled cheese square for him to try. ]

[He wanders over as she explains, taking them from her when she picks them up for him.

As he chews and swallows, his features light up.]

I could definitely get used to this.

[He's probably used to military rations for the most part, let's be real.]

[ there's something about watching rey enjoy stuff that thea takes for granted that makes her happy and it seems the same thing applies to finn. it's grilled cheese, raisa used to make it all the time which is why it's one of her favorites, but it just seems... better with someone unaccustomed to the same diet. ]

Yeah? Well, there's a party like every month so you'll have plenty of time to.
