The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

Three or four years now? It's been a while since I've been in the field, but I still find my own ways to contribute.

So you're more of the training type then?

No, not exactly. I'm a psychologist. I provide someone to talk to confidentially if the knights feel they need it.

Yes, I can see how that would be helpful. I'm sure many people walk away with nightmares from things they encounter while in service here.

Nightmares and then some.

It's good, though. It's a way I can feel the most useful, since I'm not exactly handy in the field.

I'm not sure how handy I will be in the field either. I tend to come from a much more... extravagant lifestyle.

Well, we always need diplomats.

Oh yeah, it was a blast. For all the right reasons. [he laughed] and probably some of the wrong reasons too.

Everyone should probably have a few wrong reasons, every now and again.

That it does. Life should be anything but boring.

What kind of music are you into?

Little bit of everything, really. I even went through a death metal phase when I was a kid.

I think everyone has a death metal phase. For some it may last for a day, but everyone has one.

[He smirks.]

I still listen to it every once in a while. Especially when I've had a bad day. It's cathartic.

That is a very interesting coping method you have there. Though I will drift into broadway musicals for my own relaxation sometimes.

See? There's something that works for everyone.
