The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

It’s okay, I’m pretty good at flying by the seat of my pants so I can roll with just about anything. Believe me, as long as there aren’t any gods trying to kill us for right now, should be fine. [ Because Apollo was a bitch to kill and even then it had been pretty much dumb luck. ] Also, welcome back. [ Can she even say that? Should she say that considering she wasn’t here before? Eh, too late. ] I will try to not be a pain in the ass with questions and all that.

I'd argue there's a great deal of things that are quite as unpleasant as gods we may deal with. It tends to vary. [he waves her off.] And don't worry about that, my dear. Asking questions may save you quite a bit of grief some day.

See, I wish more people had that mindset rather than getting pissy when I ask something and then yelling at me later when they didn't answer it or had pulled the whole 'you don't need to know this right now, Cassie'. [ Does she sound bitter? Totally not bitter, at all. Nope. Especially thanks to the lack of memories she's got on most things so context isn't something she's really relying on. ]

Are supernatural types common around here? Like vamps, werewolves, fae, mages? [ Pretty specific, but she's gotta know how open she can be with her powers. Might as well get this taken care of right off the bat. Confirmation was better than assuming. ]

[that's an easy one.] Fairly so. A great deal of the knights are Shadowkind, themselves, if you haven't noticed. And we have an entire sect dedicated to magic-users.

[he gestures, indicating himself.] I'm one of them, myself.

[ Gotta start somewhere, honestly. Rather get confirmation that it's all okay to talk about rather than assume based on people's auras and going out on a limb only to possibly watch it backfire. It was hard to remember that she didn't need to keep her abilities on the DL from non-magic types. ]

So this was something I could dive headfirst into without worrying about backfire, good to know. I don't-- [ Oh boy, this is a little difficult to say. ] I don't know how much help I'll actually be to anything since I can't control my powers at all. [ But hey, she can pull off some pretty nifty party tricks in a pinch. Sometimes. Ok, like a third of the time. ]

Believe me, you aren't the first to come to us with a problem with control. It's more common than you think. You'll have to speak with Faye Chamberlain at some point- she's come quite a long way since starting out.

[ Ok, maybe that's not the best word for it. However, it's not like she fully understands just what she's capable of doing outside of visions and ghosts. ]

[ RIGHT, yeah - that makes sense. Clarification was definitely important. ]

I see dead people. [ And she's gonna give a little pause in case he's familiar with Sixth Sense. ] Also, visions. Normally they're unpleasant events that are going to happen in the future or loops of awful things that spirits get caught in. Like a horror movie I can't turn off. I usually get a 30-second warning before something hits or if it's tied to an object I just make sure to not touch it... Unless I have to because the hangover from magical rickrolls aren't fun.

Ah. Well, that might actually be a first for me, then. There are clerics here who can speak to the dead with certain spells, but I've never known anyone who could just... communicate with spirits freely.

[nor did he realize there would ever be enough spirits wandering around to talk to.]
