The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

So far so good? I only woke up a little while ago. I came through the....Veil I think they called it? Anyway I was pretty messed up when I fell through and they patched me up here.

Good, I mean with the whole patching up bit. The people here are pretty good with the healing.

[he licks his lips in contemplation a moment]

That Veil is a tricky bastard too. Everyone I talk to has had some kind of issue with it if they come through.

Yeah, which sucks because you don't know to even ask to get it back.

[he licks his lips again]

I don't think you can. That's what they told me, anyway.

But hey, at least we remember each other, right? [And then he seems to catch Poe's expression, and seems to replay this conversation back over in his head, his eyebrows furrowing.] You do...remember me, don't you?

[that wince in his expression is your answer, Finn.]

Sorry, man. I got the entire memory wipe. I can remember abstract things, but no real solid details.

[His expression indicates just how much that sucks, but he sighs and tries to shake it off.]

It's fine. We didn't know each other that long, technically. We'll just have to start over from the beginning.

[Poe bites his lip, nodding]

Yeah, but I can tell it meant something to you. You got that heartbroken kinda look. So why don't you just... catch me up? Rey tried to on a few things already.

Sure, alright.

[He rubs the back of his neck before he tries to explain.]

You were a pilot for the Resistance. You were captured by the First Order, and I helped you escape. I sort of defected at the same time.

[there's a scoff there]

I may not remember anything, but I don't think I'd be dumb enough...

[oh wait, yeah Poe you are dumb enough to get captured]

You helped me escape?

Yeah, after you were interrogated, or I assume that's what they did. We stole a TIE fighter and ended up crashing on the nearby planet. I didn't see you for awhile after that.

I don't crash. [he knows that for certain. Pilot ego]

We were shot down and you managed a very rough landing. Then the ship got swallowed up by the desert.

[Sounds like crashing to him.]

If you call not being able to take off again, landing.

[A beat.]

We survived, alright. It was more than I was hoping for considering.

As long as you can walk away, and things don't explode on you... it's a landing.

[he grins]

So you adjusting alright to this place? I know it ain't back home - what I remember of it - but the people here are good.
