Just as before, accessing the secret room where the Round Table is housed requires using the Knight's keycard to open the glass case beside the mural of the War in Heaven, located across from the ballroom entrance. Using the fire extinguisher as a lever to activate the "door" mechanism reveals the long torch-lit hall plastered in artwork depicting the Knight's history. The tenants of the Knighthood hang large and foreboding over the doors at the end of the hall, which stand open to reveal the brightly lit Round Table, and the majestic crystalline dragon statue presiding over it.

Come in, find a seat, meet your teammates if you haven't already somehow.

[And Cora is the first to slide in, seeing the empty room and giving a small shrug in return. It doesn't take long for her to grab one of the chairs and settle in, waiting for the rest of the team to come in and find out what the mission is.

She hopes they're going somewhere fun.]

[Allison shows up and smiles at the familiar face in the room. She's never been on a mission with someone from home before. She wonders if it's going to make it easier. She takes a seat near Cora and drums her fingertips on the table idly.]

Is it too much to hope for somewhere tropical?

[Cora smirks back at her in return before holding up her hand with her index and middle finger crossed.]

I've never left Europe, so it might be nice to do something different.

[She could say that she's never left London, but she went to Poland to woo some wolves, so she can't.]

[She glances to the crossed fingers and smirks.]

Last mission I went on was in Antarctica. [There was also the mission to the flying island, but she's not sure dinosaurs outweigh freezing temperatures.] I'll take anything that doesn't make my lungs feel like they're forming icicles with every inhale.

[Do Willow and Aurelius show up holding hands? Probably. Is it cute? Hell yes it is. She's all smiles as she heads in, giving the girls a wave before she finds a seat. Missions are her fave tbh. So many cool new things to learn about!!!]

[they def show up holding hands just so nathan can come in shortly after them like:]

Wilma! Oreo! The gang's gettin' back together! [and then he notices cora and allison lmao] ... With some other ones!

[Paige walks in on the heels of Nathan and looks over at Willow and Aurelius, a dark cloud forming over her normally sunny expression. She has a good suspicion what this is about and she feels a little bad for the two new girls who are about to learn about all this nastiness.]

...Oh dear. I wonder if they've found something... They don't normally keep teams together unless it's for similar missions, right?

Don't look at it that way, Paige. [how he remembered her name, we just don't know. maybe bc it's only one syllable long.] Maybe we're just the dream team now. Wynn's got notes to call us in case shit's ever too real again.

[Cora is pleased to see Willow is on this mission because she loves going on missions with her friends to be honest, but then Nathan butchers their names and she's back to frowning again.

BUT. At the same time, she knows what the last big mission Willow went on was:]

Wait, you think this is related to the mission where you went through the Veil?

[DOES SHE GET TO GO ON A MISSION WITH HER BOYFRIEND?! She means, ew vampires. Gross.]

Er, well. We did happen to cause some kind of unfortunate evil to be unleashed on this world on our way out. I imagine there's a connection.

Nahhhh. I don't see it.

[impetere]

[Her eyebrows go up slightly at that before she nods and leans back in her seat and ignoring Nathan's denial because Aurelius' words make sense to her. Plus, it's a good reason to have a werewolf on your team.]

Well, whatever it is, I'm sure we'll be able to handle it.

I've been preparing to face that thing since we left Barovia. [she takes a seat and fiddles with the chain on the amulet she's wearing.] I want at least some part of it to come to a good end.

[Allison isn't fully informed about the whole 'through the Veil' thing, but she's okay with playing catch-up once Wynn arrives.]

[wynn]

[ which is now, boom. he comes in from the same doors they entered through, pausing for a moment to take stock of them all. ] Thank you for coming. I imagine some of you have already surmised what this has to do with.

[Cora immediately shifts her attention from the conversation to Wynn, because that's where the details are going to come from. And he does seem to confirm the fact that this is about vampire shenanigans.

Creepy super vampire that came through the veil from equally creepy land?

[wynn]

Precisely. [ he clasps his hands together, looking them over solemnly ] As most of you are aware, last year, there was an unusual Veil disturbance - the fog which so often brings newcomers to our world lingered behind. An investigation wound up transporting some of our Knights to another realm - one called Barovia, where they ran afoul of a vampire named Strahd, who exercised dark power over the land. In the process of confronting him and returning, he unleashed a powerful vampiric creation of his into our world, one that we have endeavored to find ever since.

And I guess we finally found it... [twisting the necklace chain around her neck a bit tyvm]

I believe we have. You'll be traveling to Casablanca, where a creature has been sighted who befits the description.

Is there anything we should know?

[And by "we," she means her and Allison, since they're the only two who haven't encountered these kinds of vampires before.]

Strengths, weaknesses? Can people like me hurt them?

[and by "like her" she means werewolves. Most of the room would know that with the exception of Nathan and Aurelius.]

[Paige doesn't know what she means, but she's quick to pipe up.] Holy weapons. They're weak against holy weapons. But you still have to be careful around them- Strahd dom- [she stops short as she looks over at Nathan, KNOWING DAMN WELL how he's going to take that and changes tactics]- he took control of my mind, and that wasn't even the worst of his abilities. We had no hope of taking him on as we were back then.

And this vampire... Well, it'll no doubt be weaker, but it was also engineered to an extent, so it might not even follow all the same rules. Strahd isn't a fool. He wouldn't have made something like that unless it could subvert a lot of standard expectations.

[look at her... and her obsession with this mission and making up for her mistakes.]

You should be able to hurt him, Cora. I mean... bringing a werewolf to a vampire fight is pretty bad ass. Plus! We didn't have a werewolf with us before, so I doubt Strahd thought to engineer his super vamp against them.

Did you say werewolf?

[impetere]

[She turns on Aurelius with a small smile and a wave like hi, I'm your friendly neighborhood werewolf.]

Yep. I've heard that werewolves in some worlds can be dangerous to vampires, but we didn't have them in mine.

I've never heard either way here... But it can't really hurt to try, which is probably why you're here. [BUT SHE'S A BABY.]

I believe they're at least immune to the vampire's bite, which seems... fortuitous. Not that I think anyone is going to get bitten but, er, better safe than sorry.

[wynn]

[ interrupting aurelius' awkward muttering over there ] These sightings have come with some victims already, we believe. There are at least a string of disappearances in the area, that I can't imagine to be a coincidence. It is likely too much to hope to find them alive, but perhaps the creature is draining them slowly.

[impetere]

Do we know how many victims have gone missing? And over how long?

[She can't imagine that a vampire would take people needlessly - if he were just going to kill them, he would have left the bodies there to be found. The frequency of his kidnappings might tell them how long it takes for them to get bored with his food.]

[autorevive]

[nathan replies, finally, like he's been taking the whole time he's been silent to think about it (you really can't trust nathan young while he's silent, it's like the calm before the storm of stupidity)] You're a werewolf? Y'know, my — the bloke my mum was dating was a werewolf. Do you really turn into a wolf or are you more of a dog or something?

[impetere]

[Her eyebrows rise for a moment, before he turns to face Nathan and just stares at him because really? is now really the time?]

Oh ... right ... [/situational awareness] Never mind. But I am curious! People want to know.

[And she will turn back to Wynn for the answer to her original question.]

There are at least six disappearances on record, across the last several months.

Oh dear. [Paige clutches at her nonexistent pearls like the good little southern girl she is.] Well, there's no time to waste, then. Who'll be leading us?

[Cora simply nods her agreement, processing the time in her mind. If they're evenly spaced across the last few months, then it stands to reason the vampire needs to feed every few weeks. So she'll just stay silent and wait for the rest of the information from Wynn so they can leave.]

[Allison listens and takes notes in her phone's notepad. She knows that others will remember, but she likes to make sure she's not going to forget something important.]

[wynn]

Sir Lyons will be taking over leadership of this team, if that is amenable to her.

[somepagesturn]

[paige looks up slowly and mouths "Me?" before straightening up in her seat. SHE WON'T LET YOU DOWN, SEMPAI.]

Of course it is. I'm very honored, and I won't you or my team down, Sir.

Of course you won't. [Willow turns to those who weren't with them last time.]

Paige is the best. And she can do ... nifty healing spells. Definitely mission leader material.

[wynn]

[Cora nods and she will get up to head out and get ready.
