Just as before, accessing the secret room where the Round Table is housed requires using the Knight's keycard to open the glass case beside the mural of the War in Heaven, located across from the ballroom entrance. Using the fire extinguisher as a lever to activate the "door" mechanism reveals the long torch-lit hall plastered in artwork depicting the Knight's history. The tenants of the Knighthood hang large and foreboding over the doors at the end of the hall, which stand open to reveal the brightly lit Round Table, and the majestic crystalline dragon statue presiding over it.

Come in, find a seat, meet your teammates if you haven't already somehow.

[Having Faith and Killian on this mission means that Thoster has a lot of faith that it will be a good time. He looks to Zaihne and gives a little shrug.]

Not magic quite the same as we might be used to, but it's a magic of a sort, I'd say.

[Thoster lets out a low chuckle.]

[ she raises an eyebrow and then shrugs. ]

Apparently my life is all about tempting fate. Who am I to say no?

If I die on this flight I'm haunting you if you survive.

[ He looked to Hawke long enough to say that before looking back to Faith.]

Settling in well already, I see. [ wynn remarks as he enters, taking note of the active conversation all around the table. he nods at hook as he takes his usual place, before looking at the others ] Thank you for coming.

[Zaihne straightens up in his seat just enough to appear attentive as Wynn enters, saving any barbs he might have had to add to the situation for later.]

You say that like this is some kind of dinner party.

[This kind of thing is mandatory, right?]

[Killian nods back, flashing a smirk and spreading his hands on the table.]

This lot seems to think we'll be taking one of those damned flying machines.

Perhaps you would care to enlighten them, Sir Jones, on the true nature of this mission.

Aye, I could do that. [He turns towards the group.]

See, I was down at one of the pubs in the city a few days back, bemoaning the shambles my love life has become, when I met a lad that'd been nearly as unlucky as I was. Or... more unlucky. All depends how you look at it, I suppose.

[ Mars nodded when Wynn entered, looking to Killian when he started to speak.]

[ hawke's eyebrows slide upwards. ]

Oh this should be good. A romantic subplot. Sounds just like a book.

[ varric would be having an absolute ball with this. she can almost hear the questions he'd be asking. it's tempting to ask them herself just to find out the answers. ]

Sounds like this mission will have a touch of drama to it.

May be too late for that, lass. Poor sod's lady love was taken by monsters. Uh, skum, he called them. They'd just eloped and were following her village's traditions, heading up to some special rock where they were going to spend their wedding night.

[Hook shakes his head in dismay.]

He was understandably shaken up, but he claimed some sea witch on the island conjured them. Apparently it's been a problem in his wife's village for a while, these skum. He'd gone for help when he found me.

[wynn]

I haven't heard accounts of skum in this world in a very long time. [ which probably means... a lot longer than most people consider a long time, since it's wynn ]

[unhand]

They're horrifying fish monsters. [Hook definitely knew this before talking to Wynn. Definitely.] Among other things, they can't breed amongst their own so they kidnap human women to force into breeding. I fear that's what's happened to the lass.

[hawkeing]

[ she's literally in the middle of coming up with a joke to make, but that--

that stops her cold. ]

Oh, lovely. They're not content with their lot, so they have to come ruin ours. Sounds familiar. Are you sure they're not darkspawn?

[ her tone sounds like it's dripping with sarcasm, but she'd really like an answer to that. a serious one. ]

So. Time to fillet us some fish?

[It's awful. He knows it's awful. He doesn't care.]

I don't know what a darkspawn is, so I couldn't say. [He nods at Zaihne.] That'd be the idea, yeah. Get them to leave the villagers alone.

That sounds like nightmare fuel. Count me in.

They all do that? That's... so fucked.

[hawkeing]

Let's say they're a lot like that but with less of a brain to plan.

[ they're not really all that similar, she suspects, but... too difficult to explain darkspawn at the moment and it's not the point. ]

Either way, who am I to stand aside from vengeance and protection?

[ yes, it's said with a good heaping of her dry humor because hahaha she's having anders flashbacks right about now and hell if she's letting people go do shit like that without her to possibly shut down anything that ends in more vengeance and less protection. ]

If they are behind this, they must be stopped, at whatever cost. Sir Jones will lead this expedition.

[Killian nods.] I've led crews before, though this time we'll do rather less pillaging, I imagine. [A beat, he glances at Wynn.] ...right?

[Zaihne almost looks disappointed at the mention of 'less' pillaging.]

Well, that's too bad.

[He's focused on the important things.]
