EARTH-11 ♔ JUST ISN'T HOW I ENVISIONED IT

WHO || Wanda, Malina, Caroline, Jordan, Alex, Loki, Jane, Darcy, YOU
WHAT || The Knights wake up after a mission in Saudi Arabia with the worst kind of hangover.
WHERE || Earth-11
WHEN || End of 2016
HOW || As you like it; mission in individual top-threads, actionspam.
It's hard to notice right away. For the most part, everything looks normal. The toilets flush in the right direction. The sky's still up. The buildings are still scraping the clouds. But something about it feels wrong, and the details come in waves.
The first wave is that no one is in the castle, or in England, or even in Saudi. It's hard to tell where they are, except it's close to the equator. Warm. Sunny. And a city. Maybe they're lucky. Maybe someone's there to greet them, if not in this bed that isn't theirs, then in this apartment that isn't theirs, or this house.
But out in the streets, things get stranger. Gone are the gleaming glass and metal frames of the skyscrapers, replaced with statuesque marble shaped into hellenic curves. Everything is bright colors and bronze. The metal coins people trade for currency have a wolf's head stamped on them, valid only in the Republic of Midgard.
The world is wrong. And no one but those in the room with Loki and Jordan seem to remember why.
[ ooc note; WHILE THE SAUDI ARABIA MISSION wraps up their encounter with Loki, everyone is invited to play in the whackadoodle AU that Loki created by making Jordan grant his wish to rule a world full of all the things Loki desires, where Thor is nowhere to be found. Consider this your dystopian/framework/everyone's dead AU event. Please note that only mission characters will remember the events of Earth-11, as they've only been transported to a parallel universe. Everything you play is for fun, not for character arc. ]

Malina stares Daisy down, adding to the mental calculation of all the things in this universe that she was deeming unacceptable, before she grits her teeth and takes another step closer.]
What I remember? Is that I went on a mission to Saudi Arabia and some meglomaniac asshat made a wish to a genie and essentially took almost everything from me that matters.
[Her purpose. Her family. Her life. All she has left is Daisy, and that's the mistake that Loki made. He essentially took the safety of the gun that's Malina Harvey.]
You're here, and trust me, I do not want anything to happen to you and I'm glad you're okay. And yeah, maybe this is a suicide mission. But this isn't a world that I'm okay living with, and I'm not just going to sit on my ass when there's a chance - a slim one, but a chance - that I can right this wrong and put things back the way they were. So if you have a plan, I'm all ears. But if not, I want to hear what Jane has to say about Thor.
[And if she goes down, she goes down. She's okay with that. The world she remembers is a world worth dying for.]

[She sounds firm on that, though there's traces of bitterness in her voice as she talks about him.]
He was once worshiped as the God of Thunder, but he's the prince of a long-living species called the Asgardians. He was banished to Earth from the realm of Asgard until he could prove that he was worthy of the throne. [The very, very short version of the story.] Loki is his adopted brother. He's the one that stopped him during that craziness in Russia.
[She crosses her arms over her chest.]
He's why I ran into you in the first place. My scanners indicated that a portal matching Asgard's signature had opened in that building. I was looking for Thor, and we found Loki instead. [Her lips press together.] Darcy and I are going to find him whether you all come with me or not.

[ Daisy shakes her head. ]
This is insane. There isn't some better world waiting out there for us. You can chase the God of Thunder if you want, hope he'll spirit you away to another universe full of puppies and rainbows, but I'll be trying to make the one we have better instead.
[ she walks away then, sitting back at her station and pulling up a scrolling screen of code. ]

You should stay with Daisy. I'm sure you don't want to be riding with crazy.
[He probably wasn't even planning on coming, but if he thought he might, she was ready to give him an out. She and Alex were prepared to go down swinging but he didn't have to. Or at least she assumed Alex was.]
Just tell us where we need to go.

Just let us go, Daisy. You don't have to come with, but ... just trust us. [diplomacy 35]

Just... try not to killed, alright? Kinda getting old, fast.

I can write you a fastpass to get you through security at the Arena. What you do after that ...
[ she shakes her head, then pulls what looks like a futuristic floppy disk out of her drive. it's not a real dystopian future until it has inexplicable technology despite being like 2019. she sets it beside her on the desk. ]

[Unless it's someone else's. Like Loki! He can die.
She moves forward slowly, giving Daisy a wide berth before picking up the floppy disk.]
Thank you.
[It's soft, and she understands how difficult this for her, before she turns and looks back to Alex and Jane.]
Let's wake up Wanda and Darcy. They get a choice in this too.
