Hasmed's announcement does not brook any rebuttal: all Knights are recalled to the Castle, where they must remain until the Section Heads and Jack Chessing have spoken about the events in Los Angeles that have left the Knighthood without their usual leader.  

The entire Los Angeles area is now covered with a dark miasma that has interfered with any signals that might be sent out from phones, etc., leaving the whole world wondering what exactly is happening down there.  Final images showed horrendous monsters, a panic of citizens, looting and violence from humans and Shadowkind alike.  

Hasmed has warned of extra magical wards on the castle, and anyone arriving will immediately take notice of one very prominent one: above the entire roof of the excessively large building hovers a black and red sigil in the air, a pentagram in a circle surrounded by runes or words in an unknown language, stretching for miles.  

[ This is the social log for post-LA lockdown.  Failboat must complete the top log before being allowed to tag outside of it. ]

[Spike is loyal to the Knights, but mostly it's to his team and to Wynn. The Knighthood itself is just an organization. Organizations can fail.]

[finnick paused to listen to this exchange on his way to worrying about myri, mostly because he was concerned for whatever fuckery he knows failboat is probably about to get themselves into now. approximately nothing has changed in the like year and a half he was gone. especially because they didn't fail to disappoint him in that regard.]

How many victories do you really think we've had? And at what cost? Just because we've spent so long making mistakes and blunders doesn't mean we need to see them through to the world's end. I'm not —

[he shakes his head.] Plan your plans. Do whatever you want in secret. But I don't want to be around when it blows up in your faces, just like every other thing we've tried.

[and now he's turning to go be with myri. THE DRAMA.]

[ dumage watches him go, before glancing back at spike ] He's right, you know. [ and she says nothing more, just walking away ]

It does not matter what they say. I will be looking for Rafael. [ and with that, Isa stalks off as well ]

[ gar looks... so tired and ready to cry again. but she'll keep it together for the moment. probably. ] I think-- [ she looks off, after the three who are leaving, before shaking her head sadly ] I think we all need some sleep. Tomorrow, we can... discuss all this.

Finnick is right.

[ it's perhaps surprising to find her on that side of things. usually she's team kat and rose. but this isn't the time to be brazen and bull-headed buffy. it's time to be the slayer (diplomacy 40). ]

We're talking about the end of the world. We can't pretend we're the only ones with a stake in this. This is the worst time for in-fighting and subterfuge. They're wrong for trying to shut us out; but we'd be stupid to return the favor.

We need every bit of help we can get. This isn't about pride. It isn't personal. It isn't about who we're trying to protect from being on the frontlines. If we fail, none of that matters. And if we refuse to work together, to take advantage of every resource this organization has to offer, we've failed already.

[rationalizes]

[ gar looks... surprisingly unconvinced ] Buffy, I-- [ but she changes her mind about whatever she was going to say, shaking her head ] Tomorrow. Let's all talk tomorrow.

[And Rose looks completely unswayed by Buffy's words, glancing at Kat as if to assure her of the fact that she's well and truly made up her mind on this.]

It's not about refusing to work together. It's about refusing to be sidelined. If the world is going to hell then I intend to be doing everything I can to stop it. With or without the support of the Knights.

[Which should be a scary thing for her to say, given the potential implications of her words and yet she almost appears lighter, more certain of herself for having spoken.
