Hasmed's announcement does not brook any rebuttal: all Knights are recalled to the Castle, where they must remain until the Section Heads and Jack Chessing have spoken about the events in Los Angeles that have left the Knighthood without their usual leader.  

The entire Los Angeles area is now covered with a dark miasma that has interfered with any signals that might be sent out from phones, etc., leaving the whole world wondering what exactly is happening down there.  Final images showed horrendous monsters, a panic of citizens, looting and violence from humans and Shadowkind alike.  

Hasmed has warned of extra magical wards on the castle, and anyone arriving will immediately take notice of one very prominent one: above the entire roof of the excessively large building hovers a black and red sigil in the air, a pentagram in a circle surrounded by runes or words in an unknown language, stretching for miles.  

[ This is the social log for post-LA lockdown.  Failboat must complete the top log before being allowed to tag outside of it. ]

[Topher's eyes light up at the possibility, though he scrunches his face up a bit, as he considers it.] Well, if people are gonna wear it, it'd have to be pretty much wired into their heads. Then we could monitor remotely for the signatures. I don't think that many people are gonna agree to a neural implant though, considering the weird technophobic people we've got around here.

But believe me, I would love to have neural maps of everyone here for that reason. Psionic interference keeps becoming a thing, and we have like... three psions. Efficiency is a thing.

What if it's more like a helmet? Like ... hold on a second.

[And he will disappear in a flash, pardon the pun, but a few seconds later he's back again with a red suit and he reaches up to turn the cowl inside out so he can see the sensors inside, woven into the top of the suit itself.]

Back home, Cisco built sensors into the suit to monitor my vitals. What if we had some kind of head gear that wasn't as invasive as a neural implant? We could dress it up like armor for those less technology inclined.

[Did he just... What the...

Oh and he's back now.] ...So, like, we're definitely gonna talk about what you just did at some point, but for now... That is actually a really good idea.

[He's so impressed.] Yeah, with access to tech like that, I could rig up something that'll neural map and keep track of any discrepancies.

[And there's a grin because yay for actually being useful! He was starting to get a little restless and the fact that he actually managed a good idea and would have a project to work on is definitely better than it was five minutes ago.

He hands off the suit to Topher so that he can have a look at if he wants while pulling out his phone:]

Let me text Cisco and get him in here. I'm pretty sure you'd rather talk to him about the specifics than have me be the go between.

You do that. I'm gonna resist the urge to scream from the rooftops that I finally have something productive to do.

[He laughs.]

Tell me about it, man. I feel like I'm spinning my wheels being stuck in here like this.

Right? This is why I told Astrid I couldn't go into the Dragon's Light- what if they made me stand around and wait for brain surgeries? I'd do nothing all day.

[He wrinkles his nose.]

That sounds like the worst kind of boring. I mean, I used to be a CSI in a major city, so there was literally always something to keep me busy.

Yeah, before this, I... [ dot dot dot] ...It definitely wasn't boring, that's for sure. But psionic defense R&D? Definitely a thing I could get invested in.

Hey, I'll be more than willing to play test dummy. And I'm sure there's a psion somewhere in the castle who'd be able to to help us test it out.

[ Just then Cisco comes in, tablet in hand. He knocks on the door frame as he peeks his head in, before entering the lab fully. ]

Hey. Heard this is where the meeting of the minds is happening?

[ Cisco no. ]

That's why we have the Dragon's Mind. I've been wanting an excuse to pick their brains for ages.

[AND SPEAKING OF MINDS, HERE'S THE MAN OF THE HOUR. Topher waves him in.] Oh hey! Come in!

[And Barry glances up at Cisco with a smile.]

Hey, man. Cisco, this is Topher Brink, Topher this is Cisco Ramon. Cisco and I are from the same world.

[ Cisco recognizes Topher from the computer lab, trying to pull up the satellite feeds of LA. He gives a small wave. ]

Hey. Cool to meet you.

[ He holds up his tablet. ]

So. Brain scans?
