Hasmed's announcement does not brook any rebuttal: all Knights are recalled to the Castle, where they must remain until the Section Heads and Jack Chessing have spoken about the events in Los Angeles that have left the Knighthood without their usual leader.  

The entire Los Angeles area is now covered with a dark miasma that has interfered with any signals that might be sent out from phones, etc., leaving the whole world wondering what exactly is happening down there.  Final images showed horrendous monsters, a panic of citizens, looting and violence from humans and Shadowkind alike.  

Hasmed has warned of extra magical wards on the castle, and anyone arriving will immediately take notice of one very prominent one: above the entire roof of the excessively large building hovers a black and red sigil in the air, a pentagram in a circle surrounded by runes or words in an unknown language, stretching for miles.  

[ This is the social log for post-LA lockdown.  Failboat must complete the top log before being allowed to tag outside of it. ]

[Sorry, Emma. She's needed someone to talk to about this and hasn't really known where to take her concern and frustration. Congrats! You won this terrible prize.]

You know how she is. [Stubborn but nonchalant so there's really no talking her out of it.] I guess she's got the best chance of making it out of this alive, at least.

Maybe. But a lot of these assholes just have a hard on for Wynn so we get swept into it by association. Lots of innocent people die in the process, but not everyone. LA isn't wiped off the map, last I heard.

[She shrugs] Either way, I'm here and hoping to shove a fireball right up someone's ass.

Yeah ... You are.

Why? Not to say you shouldn't be. But you just listed off a pretty good argument to the contrary, and I've never known you to suffer for anyone else's sake.

Honestly? I was kinda drunk when the lockdown happened. Lila's husband drove me and Astrid back from their place. It sucked that she was staying, but it didn't all sink in right away.

As for why I'm still here... [She folds her arms over her chest and sighs.]

I spent a lot of my early time here doing whatever I wanted and not giving a shit what happened next. But I'm tired of watching people I care about get hurt before I can stop it. Lila's' staying out of this, so that's one less person to worry about. But I doubt Hook is staying on the sidelines. Or Gold. Or... you.

So I'm here.

[ there's like a whole tree in emma's eyes at this point. in part because she feels like she doesn't deserve to be on that list. god knows she's made mistakes. she steps forward and pulls faye in for the hug, one hand holding at the back of her head.

emma shuts her eyes. no. she's not sure she deserves it. but she's glad she has it. ]

[Faye only tenses for a second before she relaxes into the embrace and returns it, resting her cheek against Emma's shoulder and holding onto her around the waist. She takes a breath in and exhales slowly, reminding herself that it's okay to let her guard down like this sometimes. It's still difficult. She has to actively fight against her instinct to pull away and make a snarky comment.]

I'm glad you are too. Try not to turn into any weird monsters between now and when this all goes down, alright? Or if you do, make sure it's a monster that likes us.

I plan to cut way back on my interactions with angry gods this year. Call it a resolution.

[She shakes her head, laughing under her breath.]

I don't think that's the kind of thing you have a group for. Though... I guess this would be the place for it if there ever was one. [Too many god-like creatures fucking with people's lives tbh]

I was thinking more that I'd just slap some sense into you.

Because you definitely have proven you know how to handle this shit on your own. [She scoffs a bit.]

[The humor in Faye's expression fades a little because wow those are some intense feelings that just got thrown back at her.]

Whatever happens? Whenever shit gets real around here, because you know it's going to... I want to be where you are, alright? And I don't mean I'm putting in a request with tweedle old and tweedle wrinkly. I mean they can go fuck themselves if they don't put us on the same team.

[In an ideal world, she'll make sure Hook and Gold and Astrid are with her too, but with Lila gone, Emma is top priority for Faye.]

"Tweedle Old and Tweedle Wrinkly"? [ she laughs dryly. ] Really playing to your audience there.

[She shrugs with a smirk.]

Tell me it doesn't fit them to a tee.

They're still working out the kinks of leadership.

[She scrunches her nose.]

If so you say so. I'm not a fan, personally. But I'll play the good soldier if I'm asked.

I'm surprised you're not more keen on Hasmed's new position. He was Gold's mentor, and he's the head of the Dragon's Fire. [ which puts him squarely in the 'someone faye knows what to expect with" column, at the very least. ]

[reallywicked]

[She wrinkles her nose.]

He always seemed like more of a rules guy. [She actually knows very little about him. But he's old and grumpy and Rose colored her opinion of the takeover.] Not my style.

Believe it or not, I noticed that about you.

[reallywicked]

Anyway, the point is I'm not planning on going rogue or anything, but I'm also not falling in line like a good little soldier. [She shrugs] I don't think asking to stick with people I care about is that big of a deal.

It sounds like you're doing what you've always done.

[reallywicked]

[Her face falls a little- not much, just a touch. Staying at all is different than what she would have done a few years ago. She tries to cover the shift in expression with a shrug and a smirk.]

Maybe. But at least I do it with style.
