Hasmed's announcement does not brook any rebuttal: all Knights are recalled to the Castle, where they must remain until the Section Heads and Jack Chessing have spoken about the events in Los Angeles that have left the Knighthood without their usual leader.  

The entire Los Angeles area is now covered with a dark miasma that has interfered with any signals that might be sent out from phones, etc., leaving the whole world wondering what exactly is happening down there.  Final images showed horrendous monsters, a panic of citizens, looting and violence from humans and Shadowkind alike.  

Hasmed has warned of extra magical wards on the castle, and anyone arriving will immediately take notice of one very prominent one: above the entire roof of the excessively large building hovers a black and red sigil in the air, a pentagram in a circle surrounded by runes or words in an unknown language, stretching for miles.  

[ This is the social log for post-LA lockdown.  Failboat must complete the top log before being allowed to tag outside of it. ]

Holy shit, what? [She is so offended on Cora's behalf.] That's how they "deal" with shadowkind? Didn't we spend a lot of time and resources and put all our lives in danger in Andres to shut that sort of shit down?

It's not all Shadowkind. Just the non-human ones.

[Because presumably the human ones are just fine.]

I don't know how they feel about Shadowkind as a whole but they do not like werewolves from either side of the Veil.

That's super fucked up. We have werewolves, vampires, a fucking walking, sort of talking tree hanging out here! Are they just only going to work with the humans?

[impetere]

I don't know.

[Cora shakes her head for a moment, before she shrugs.]

Dovan thinks that they'll play nice for the purposes of this battle, but my experience tells me not to count on a person's ability to follow orders when they're dealing with something they hate.

[A beat.]

I trust Dovan though. So ... hopefully he's more right than I am paranoid.

Well, if they step out of line, let me know. I'll save something just for them. [This sense of indignation is hard to explain. Unbeknownst to her, Faye is the descendent of witches who escaped the Salem trials so... it's in her blood to say fuck this persecution shit.]

[And that actually makes her smile a little. Not a lot because there is so much about this that does not have her feeling great, but the fact that there are still people around that she can trust is comforting, to say the least.]

I knew I liked you for a reason.

[reallywicked]

[She smirks a bit.]

Yeah, yeah. Everyone loves you when you can send a lightning bolt up someone's ass for them.

That and you're not trying to tell me that I'm being an idiot.

[Not that she thought Faye would, but she has a feeling that there may be a few knights who would try and reassure her that it would be fine.

It gets frustrating after a while.]

You'd be an idiot if you were super excited to see the people who tried to kill you show up on your doorstep. Plus this all just adds to the feeling I've had that they section heads aren't telling us everything we need to know.

[impetere]

Probably not.

[She makes a face.]

I don't like the idea of going forward with some kind of war, when we don't know for sure what happened to Wynn.

That's fair. Do you feel comfortable talking to anyone about it? Like your section head? Mine seems to be on a power trip so I'm counting him out.

[impetere]

[She nods a bit.]

I talked to him already. Not about not having them come here at all, because if what happened in LA is as bad as they make it out to be, we need the bodies. But I tried to keep them away from the other weres, and he basically said that they would follow Integra's orders.

[and to a point she trusts that. A lot of soldiers are just soliders.]

But I'm worried about the ones who think they might be able to get away with it.

[Faye is quiet for a moment, thinking.]

If they put us near each other whenever we get orders for all this bullshit, I can use a spell so we can talk without talking. [yay telepathic bond] So long as we stay within the spell's range, you can let me know if any of them come for you and I'll have another excuse to set an asshole on fire.

[impetere]

[Yes. Let's indoctrinate Faye into the Hale School of Having Conversations with Your Eyebrows.]

If we wind up on a mission together, I will take you up on that.

[reallywicked]

Good. I'm gonna fire off a couple more spells down here, but I can come find you later and we can get dinner or something?

[impetere]

[She nods in agreement as she steps out to give her some space to do just that.]

Yeah, sounds good.
