Hasmed's announcement does not brook any rebuttal: all Knights are recalled to the Castle, where they must remain until the Section Heads and Jack Chessing have spoken about the events in Los Angeles that have left the Knighthood without their usual leader.  

The entire Los Angeles area is now covered with a dark miasma that has interfered with any signals that might be sent out from phones, etc., leaving the whole world wondering what exactly is happening down there.  Final images showed horrendous monsters, a panic of citizens, looting and violence from humans and Shadowkind alike.  

Hasmed has warned of extra magical wards on the castle, and anyone arriving will immediately take notice of one very prominent one: above the entire roof of the excessively large building hovers a black and red sigil in the air, a pentagram in a circle surrounded by runes or words in an unknown language, stretching for miles.

[He hasn't retained a single line of dialogue in the movie he's watching. He couldn't recall a single plot point if you put a gun to his head. He's just... there. Processing it all, slowly.

When Cora joins him, he glances at her, but doesn't say anything until she does.]

I wouldn't have anywhere else to go. [All of the people he knows live here, work here. He's built an entire life in another dimension here. Leaving would feel like losing everything twice over.] What about you?

[She nods slowly for a moment, playing with her sandwich and swallowing hard.]

I don't want to leave until they pay for what they did.

But I don't trust Hellsing either.

I'm with you on that one. Especially with them talking about traitors among us or whatever. But we're definitely supposed to trust these guys? No thanks.

That and they tried to kill me once.

[Did she tell him about this? It feels like forever ago - four years ago, maybe more, but Hales have long memories and they don't forget.]

So naturally I'm a little concerned about the people like me.

Do you think they can tell? I mean- just by looking at you guys?

[Yep, he probably knew for a long time since they've been friends since she got there.]

I don't know. I honestly tried to forget they existed.

Fair. It may be time to get some intel, though. If they're going to be hanging around, we should probably know more, right?

[She nods in agreement, before rolling her shoulders a bit.]

Guess we'll have to see what they have in the library. Or talk to other knights who have dealt with them.
