Hasmed's announcement does not brook any rebuttal: all Knights are recalled to the Castle, where they must remain until the Section Heads and Jack Chessing have spoken about the events in Los Angeles that have left the Knighthood without their usual leader.  

The entire Los Angeles area is now covered with a dark miasma that has interfered with any signals that might be sent out from phones, etc., leaving the whole world wondering what exactly is happening down there.  Final images showed horrendous monsters, a panic of citizens, looting and violence from humans and Shadowkind alike.  

Hasmed has warned of extra magical wards on the castle, and anyone arriving will immediately take notice of one very prominent one: above the entire roof of the excessively large building hovers a black and red sigil in the air, a pentagram in a circle surrounded by runes or words in an unknown language, stretching for miles.  

[ This is the social log for post-LA lockdown.  Failboat must complete the top log before being allowed to tag outside of it. ]

[She nods before making her way in and closing the door behind her. The squire rooms are mostly empty right now but she doesn't want to run the risk of anyone listening in.]

Did you hear the announcement Solace made? About Hellsing coming here to work with us?

[animalistic]

Yeah. Some company or something. It's a weird name. It sounds like an emo band or something.

[impetere]

Hellsing.

[Because the name is important - otherwise it wouldn't matter.]

They're not a company. They're hunters.

[animalistic]

Like Allison and her dad -- or like her grandfather?

[She pauses.] I'm gonna guess it's the grandfather type... since you're here talking to me about them.

[impetere]

[She nods because yep. Just like Gerard.]

When I first came through the Veil, I lost control on a full moon. I made sure to isolate myself so that I wouldn't hurt anyone, but they came and hunted me down anyway.

[animalistic]

Oh. [She glances to Liam, stuck in his wolf state.] Do I need to worry about them?

[impetere]

I don't know.

[And that's honest. She's not sugar coating it to make her feel better, but she also can't definitively say she doesn't either.]

Dovan thinks that they'll follow orders and not strike out against the non-human members of the knighthood unnecessarily, but in my experience, hunters aren't exactly known for keeping that kind of word if they think they can get away with it. So I would be careful, if you're going to stay.

[animalistic]

Do I need to worry about Liam? [She pauses.] Wait, where else would I go? Aren't we all on lock-down?

[impetere]

We are on lock down, but eventually that's going to lift. They've already said they can't force us to fight the war if we don't want to.

[Cora is staying because she wants to make sure the people who killed Abigail hurt too. But she's not going to force Malia to stay if she doesn't want to.]

And I think Liam will be okay. As long as we don't agitate them, they should have reasons to come at us. I hope.

[animalistic]

So... if we don't fight we're getting kicked out?

[impetere]

That's the impression I got from Solace's message. That if you aren't standing with them, then you're giving up your spot in the Knighthood.

[And her tone is judgement free on that - she won't force Malia to stay if this isn't something she feels strongly about. She probably will even help her find somewhere for her and Liam to go that's safe.

Probably with Gus' mom.]

I have someone outside the Knighthood you could go to if you don't want to stay.

[She hopes it doesn't sound like she doesn't want her to stay, but she doesn't want her to feel pressured to fight either.]

[Malia thinks it's a shitty choice to make. It's not that she doesn't want to fight, but she doesn't want to die. She doesn't want more of the people her friends care about to die either. All she's really known is this place. There was a small amount of time before she was here, but to give her a choice -- something that says stay where you feel safe and risk your life, but on a much more global level, or abandon us and go away.

Malia doesn't like the choice.]

Is that group -- are they the ones calling the shots?

[impetere]

[She shakes her head.]

It seems like the section heads are, at least for now. I don't know if that's going to change.

[animalistic]

How long do I have until I have to decide?

[impetere]

Hellsing is going to be here within a few days. I'm not sure how soon after that they're going to begin making plans and sending people out, but I think it's safe to say you'll have to make it soon.

[animalistic]

It's kinda shitty of them. [She wonders if Wynn would feel the same way. It's awful to think that they roped these people in, pledged them to a cause, trained them -- and then when things went to hell and they were without their usual leadership ask them to pledge to someone else's cause. Without question or they're out. Seems dumb.]

[impetere]

Yeah, I agree. But we're not the ones making the rules right now.

[Which doesn't mean she likes it, but in order to get what she wants, she's going to have to play by them.]

[animalistic]

You're staying, right?

[impetere]

[She nods. She knows that Lan's not going anywhere while things with Wynn are up in the air, and she's not going to leave him alone with Hellsing. She also wants to get her own punches in with whatever it is that killed Abigail.]

Yeah. There's some people here who are trusting me to watch their backs.
