Hasmed's announcement does not brook any rebuttal: all Knights are recalled to the Castle, where they must remain until the Section Heads and Jack Chessing have spoken about the events in Los Angeles that have left the Knighthood without their usual leader.  

The entire Los Angeles area is now covered with a dark miasma that has interfered with any signals that might be sent out from phones, etc., leaving the whole world wondering what exactly is happening down there.  Final images showed horrendous monsters, a panic of citizens, looting and violence from humans and Shadowkind alike.  

Hasmed has warned of extra magical wards on the castle, and anyone arriving will immediately take notice of one very prominent one: above the entire roof of the excessively large building hovers a black and red sigil in the air, a pentagram in a circle surrounded by runes or words in an unknown language, stretching for miles.

I'm not sure how much you'll find about that in the history of the Knighthood... Are you looking specifically for information about why Hellsing and the Knighthood have been historically at odds?

[nods] That would be a good place to start, yes.

I think it might have more to do with the nature of our approach to the same sort of work... Wynn has historically taken a more empathetic view than Hellsing has towards... the unnatural.

And how does Hellsing approach it?

Generally? That there are things in this world that are just evil. And they need to be stopped, violently.

And what is their definition of evil?

[untethered]

Hurting people, or endangering them in some way. When they came after Cora, it was because she was disoriented. Lashing out. They thought she was ... I don't know. Mad. Crazed.

What did they do to my sister?

[his eyes narrow dangerously, big brother protectiveness kicking in. But he manages not to snarl or shift. He has better control than that.]

Nothing, because we were there. We got to her first, and protected her from Hellsing. They wanted us to turn her over to them, but we assured them that we would make sure she didn't hurt anyone.

So why now would the Knights team up with them with so many people under the castle roof that they would want to kill?

They've left her alone since they made the deal with us. I think they believe in honoring their word, and Hasmed and Solace must have been specific with them about their expectations for behavior under our roof.

I hope so, otherwise, this might start a civil war in the castle none of us want to see happen.

Have you been speaking with her? Cora?

[grumpypuppy]

I have. She has no love for them.

[and Hales have anger issues]

Whether we like it or not, we might need to work with them side by side. But I hope she knows that her friends here would protect her from anything they tried.
