Hasmed's announcement does not brook any rebuttal: all Knights are recalled to the Castle, where they must remain until the Section Heads and Jack Chessing have spoken about the events in Los Angeles that have left the Knighthood without their usual leader.  

The entire Los Angeles area is now covered with a dark miasma that has interfered with any signals that might be sent out from phones, etc., leaving the whole world wondering what exactly is happening down there.  Final images showed horrendous monsters, a panic of citizens, looting and violence from humans and Shadowkind alike.  

Hasmed has warned of extra magical wards on the castle, and anyone arriving will immediately take notice of one very prominent one: above the entire roof of the excessively large building hovers a black and red sigil in the air, a pentagram in a circle surrounded by runes or words in an unknown language, stretching for miles.  

[ This is the social log for post-LA lockdown.  Failboat must complete the top log before being allowed to tag outside of it. ]

[He's pretty sure most people wouldn't necessarily make that bad of a call, but he'll go with it.]

It shouldn't have taken what it did, but I can't change it now. I just have to do what I can to make up for it.

[hacker]

And you think leaving is gonna do that?

[ that's not judgment in her voice. just ... a desire to understand. and maybe a wistful regret that they had only made this right in time for him to disappear. ]

[familybusiness]

[He shakes his head.]

My brother needs me.

[As if that explains everything. For what it's worth, it doesn't sound like he really wants to leave. He just doesn't see another option.]

[hacker]

[ so does she. but that's not fair of her, she recognizes, and so she doesn't say it. but the idea of losing one of the only people who hasn't regarded her as a traitor hurts, all the same. ]

Will I be able to reach you?

[familybusiness]

Felicity is gonna get us all burner phones. Once we have a line of communication, I'll get a hold of you, alright?

[Hopefully that'll happen sooner rather than later.]

We're gonna want to have some way of knowing what's going on with you all, too. I'm just glad there will be someone I can trust that's still here.

[hacker]

Hopefully still here. That conversation's ... in progress.

[ she goes for her hip. ]

Let me get you the number for my SHIELD phone, just in case. And Sam, if you need anything ... We can help you.

[familybusiness]

I'll just have to cross my fingers, then.

[He nods at that.]

I'll get a hold of you as soon as I can. And believe me, you'll be the first person that knows if I need something.

[He'll be surprised if they don't hit some kind of dead end somewhere.]

[hacker]

This is what you meant, isn't it? When you said we couldn't meet after dinner. You're leaving ... now? Tonight?

[ she searches him, a little lost for words now that it sinks in. ]

[familybusiness]

[He looks a little forlorn, a little guilty, but eventually he nods.]

In a few hours.

[hacker]

I'm ... supposed to leave the castle as soon as I'm packed.

[ she shrugs one shoulder as she explains. she can't linger for a few hours to say goodbye, in other words. not a real goodbye. ]

[familybusiness]

Oh.

[He looks distinctly unhappy about that. He breathes out a heavy exhale.]

I guess I should consider myself lucky you got to come find me at all.

[hacker]

Technically, I'm already playing hookie, but you know. [ she shrugs her shoulder, a smile twisting on her lips. ] I like to live dangerously.

[ i mean, it's sarcastic, but is it really in this context ? ? ? ]

[familybusiness]

[That makes the corner of his mouth turn up in amusement as he glances down at the floor before lifting his gaze back up to hers.]

I'm glad you decided that I was worth that.

[hacker]

What good secret agent doesn't have a list of things she should do before she gets burned and can never come back?

[ she says it as a joke, but she's ... advancing on him.

in part because it's more than that. it's not just saying bye to people. saying bye had been too hard, in several cases. she'd avoided it because she was afraid of the pain of rejection. but sam ... he didn't just forgive her. he didn't think there was anything to forgive.

that's huge.

she reaches out to fidget with the hem of his flannel, thoughtful. ]

I'm sure you've got a few things you want to make sure you do before you plunge into the great unknown.

[Oh. Hi. With a bomb ass wisdom check he...gets what she's laying down 100%. On some kind of level, anyway. Possibly a more chaste one, but we know how his will saves tend to go.

He's thought of this kind of moment before, a long time ago, before they had their big falling out and Glasya shoved her way back into his life in the most obvious way she could. They were pushed apart then, when he had taken the advice of people who didn't know the nitty, gritty truth and gone down the wrong path.

He'd made his mistakes. He wouldn't make them again.

That included things where Skye was concerned. Maybe it was selfish of him, to seek a connection he'd thought he'd lost only to leave again, but he doesn't want this to be a good-bye.

All the other people he cares about will be with him. He needs a reason to want to come back, too.]

Then I'm definitely not a secret agent 'cause my list only had one thing on it.

[I rolled to see how smooth that came off and got a nat 20 charisma check, so...there's that.

His hand brushes through her hair then, until his palm finds her cheek and he leans in to kiss her.]

[hacker]

[ she was going for it already tbh but after that smooth-ass approach, skye doesn't even wait for him to lean all the way in. she reaches up to grab the back of his neck and meets him somewhere in the middle.

it starts out chaste. gentle, even. but she realizes with his lips against hers that this really is the end. or, potentially the end. even if both of them are given the okay to come back by the powers in charge here, they're still facing down a god here.

there's no guarantee that they'd even be able to take advantage of the re-invitation.

so her grip on the back of his neck tightens and the kiss turns bruising. this probably isn't the best choice to be making, given those circumstances. given the fact that she's clinging to the one piece of a life she should be letting turn to ash and give her the chance to go back to what she knew with shield, but.

that's not stopping her either. ]

[He wasn't gonna try to go there, content to keep things gentle and comforting, so to speak, but that doesn't mean he isn't going to follow her lead.

The press of her fingers at the back of his neck and the pressure of her mouth has the more logical side of his brain falling to the wayside. This isn't what they should be doing, but Sam wants no more regrets and well...

...he's not gonna push away one of the only good things he has left.

His lips part against hers, coaxing them open into a deeper kiss that's surprisingly intense (dex 21) as he just straight up gives into this without literally a second thought (will save crit fail).]

[ it's hard to resist when everything is going so well. skye scrapes her teeth against his lip, trying to pull back, but she's not doing much better tbh with a will save of 10. it's no one's fault, really. it's a long time coming.

instead, she embraces it. she dives back in, planting one hand on his abdomen to guide him while her feet shuffle forward to slowly walk him back towards the bed (cha 22, dex 20). yep. this is the best life choice she could be making right now. ]

[He steps backward without stopping anything else he's doing, sitting back onto the edge of the bed when the backs of his knees hit it, kicking off his shoes as his hands move to her waist.

With little effort, he lifts her into his lap (str 15), fingers grasping idly at the fabric of her shirt while his lips seek hers again.]

[hacker]

[ oh, he—? Okay. floor's gone. skye takes that opportunity to brace her hands on his arms and just

appreciate that for a minute. like alright. that was a thing. look, she has simple tastes. when his hands move around her hips, she lifts her arms to help him ease the shirt over her head.

she's not wearing particularly attractive underwear but on the bright side it's clean and it matches so that's what the dice did for sam winchester. once she's out of her shirt, she tries to push him down flat on his back (str 14) but she's very clearly not

the one in charge here.

it's fine. we all try things and fail sometimes. ]

[familybusiness]

[Blame it on that crit fail earlier. He just gets a little over-excited sometimes.

If you think he's paying really close attention to her bra in that context, you wrong. He's perfectly happy with the fact that there's skin against his palms as they smooth up her sides.

They don't get particularly far, though, instead moving back down to settle at her hips because she's pushing him back and he's seemingly totally okay with that. His back hits the bed and he seems a little dazed as his eyes blink before he looks up at her, his thumbs running back and forth over her stomach.]

[hacker]

[ while she gets the impression that he, like her, would like talking to not be a thing that gets in the way right now, she also rolled high enough wisdom to … think it's a good idea (wis 14). she runs one hand up through her hair to pull it out of her face, but tbh her bangs are hopeless so it's an exercise in futility anyway. ]

I know you're dealing with some stuff, so if you aren't sure you really want to be ... jumping into anythin, or —

[He's breathing a little heavy so just...give him a second to process that.

Honestly, he just looks confused.

He should probably say something meaningful or profound, but instead, he uses one hand to push himself up high enough that he can look at her a little closer.

Sam seems to be rolling over a few thoughts in his head, his eyes flicking back and forth between hers, and then he just leans in and kisses her again, softer this time and with obvious deliberation.

That's a yes, in case she was wondering.]

[ well, that answers that.

skye gets swept up into the kiss without further hesitation. she settles her palms against his abdomen and creeps them up beneath the hem of his shirt. there's no sense in pretending this ain't what she's here for at this point, really. it's tough with his back on the mattress, but she's persistent. ]

[familybusiness]

[Sam reaches behind his head for the collar of his shirt and pulls it over his head in one smooth motion. He's so helpful, you're welcome.

His other hand smoothes up her bare back, along her spine, then back down again, teeth tugging on his bottom lip. She wanted him here, so he's waiting to see what she does before he potentially takes the reins again, his eyes watching her appreciatively.]
