Hasmed's announcement does not brook any rebuttal: all Knights are recalled to the Castle, where they must remain until the Section Heads and Jack Chessing have spoken about the events in Los Angeles that have left the Knighthood without their usual leader.  

The entire Los Angeles area is now covered with a dark miasma that has interfered with any signals that might be sent out from phones, etc., leaving the whole world wondering what exactly is happening down there.  Final images showed horrendous monsters, a panic of citizens, looting and violence from humans and Shadowkind alike.  

Hasmed has warned of extra magical wards on the castle, and anyone arriving will immediately take notice of one very prominent one: above the entire roof of the excessively large building hovers a black and red sigil in the air, a pentagram in a circle surrounded by runes or words in an unknown language, stretching for miles.

Oh, no I don't act like regular vampires. [ look at her. she is sunshine. ] And I can hang out in the sun, obviously, even if I can't get a tan anymore.

I'm a vampire, I can't be good. I can pretend and control my basic instincts but to the rest of the world I'm just... evil, soulless, a monster. [ you know, the usual. ]

Believe or not, I know what that feels like.

[He'd hid what he was to Rey for ages, lied to her about his origins, before he told her the truth.]

It's stupid, though. They don't know what they're talking about. Don't let anyone make you feel differently.

[ ignores the rest because she's too invested in feeling terrible about herself right now ]

Yeah, I um...before I met Rey, I was a stormtrooper. [He pauses, realizing that isn't going to mean jack to her.] Basically, I was trained by the bad guys to follow orders and just...kill. When I defected, I had to basically lie about who I was because I knew they just see me just like the rest of them.

But Rey, she cared about me anyway.

Rey has a big heart, [ caroline offers uselessly. they both know that, she doesn't need to say it. ]

I don't, kill. I try not to, at least. I don't want to be what they think I am.

[militarized]

Yeah. She really does.

[This is all stuff he assumed. After all, Wynn wouldn't put up with that. None of them would.]

Just because you're a vampire, it doesn't mean you're evil. If this Hellsing has a problem with that, then they'll have to go through us. They can't just come in here and hurt our people.
