Solace's announcement makes the situation unfortunately plain - those who have worked to stop Blade and company for the last five years have been side-lined, and will be until this ends, one way or another.  Jack has sent out a secret communication to all members of the team, asking them to gather in Thomas Bancroft's old room, which has stood empty since his death, and is usually locked.

When they make their way there before 8am, however, they will find the door unlatched.  Jack is already inside, with Gar seated near him, one hand on his arm.  Kat leans against the wall behind Fred, who is seated in a chair.  Her arms are folded, and she's grinding her teeth back and forth.

[Spike gives Jack an incredulous look.]

You think I'm mad because I wasn't invited to the bloody clubhouse? Yeah, that hurts, but this isn't about grudges. It's about the fact that right now? I don't bloody trust most of you to show all your cards until it's too late. It's about the fact that every bloody time something's gone wrong it's been because people hold things back and no one ever bloody learns.

I wouldn't care about all your whisperings except I know it'll get people hurt.

[Myri puts her phone in with Vi's.]

Spike, you don't have to come if it makes you uncomfortable. I don't feel great about this either, but for me and my daughter, it seems like the best choice. You are a valuable member of this team, but if you're going to hold onto this distrust, it will only get someone hurt. So if you can't put it behind you, perhaps it's best that you stay here and stay safe.

[ jack looks mighty confused, if only because he said nothing about spike being invited to anything....? ]

Myrilandel is right. There will be no room for distrust on this team from now on. We're going to be relying on each other entirely - we don't have the organization to fall back on anymore.

[bigbad]

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. [He gestures at the rest of the team, eyes lingering on Rose.] No one's been trusting anyone on this team for a long time. If we're going to be trusting each other, that's on everyone here.

And maybe if you'd stop being so damn defensive, you'd grasp that everyone and their secrets has nothing to do with you, and everything to do with the fact that the Queen of Hell can read our fucking minds!

[All patience lost at this point, to be honest.]

Come or don't come. Lets just get moving. [Not even waiting for a response before she's moving to board the plane.]

You heard her. [ dean's just gonna leave it at that and follow her on board. ]

You can only control yourself. Even if we all said we trusted everyone here, there's no way to prove it and know that things would be different. Boarding that plane is a sign of faith in this group. That's the only way we succeed. So you either do or you don't trust us. And that goes for everyone, not just you. This group has suffered too many losses from splintering.

[Myri takes Shayla's hand and heads to board the plane as well.]

[Felicity is going to dump her old phone and then take her bag of new phones and turns to board the plane herself. She doesn't really have a comment here, she just wants to get this show on the road.

Standing on the tar mac debating this has her feeling like a sitting duck.]

[finnick didn't bring his phone; he knows the drill tbh. and he was just waiting for myri and shayla to start moving before moving himself. the second there was bickering about ~oh no what will we do without our phones~ he was tapping his foot, though. y'all. really.]

[And he turns and walks back to his car.]

[ vi huffs a sigh, briefly watching spike walk away before she turns back to the small group left in front of the plane. ]

Can't say the lack of faith isn't a little demoralizing, but. [ oh well. they don't have time to convince spike to go with them. if he can't put aside himself to save the world, then he is a liability, end of story. ] Come on, Lu.

[ vi will follow finnick and myri and felicity to the plane. 'cause she's gonna need help with all her junk. :) ]

[ kat looks BETRAYED!! at spike's words, and while she doesn't follow him, she does wait and say: ] Spike! [ in her most incredulous voice ]

[He stops and turns his head back to look at her, though he doesn't make any move to return.]

[Sam looks like he has a bunch of things he wants to say to Spike and not enough time to do so, so in the end he just furrows his brows, tosses in his phone, and heads after Rose and Dean.]

Are you seriously going to give up now? We need everyone. We're fighting a god.

[bigbad]

If you need me, you'll be able to contact me and I'll be there. But I can't go with you now, love. Not like this.

[slay]

If you already knew you weren't going to come, why meet us here at all?

[bigbad]

[Spike turns to look at Buffy.] You're my family. I was hoping I was wrong.

[slay]

You're right. We are your family. And you're abandoning us to this? Now?

[ she steps closer. ]

Spike, we need you. I need you.

[Faith doesn't know Spike the way the rest of them do -- hell, it seems like she doesn't know a lot of what's been going on with this grou--gang. She keeps her eye on Spike, just to see if he's actually coming with or not, but she drops her phone in the bag when it gets to her and heads toward the plane.]

[bigbad]

[Goddammit. He should have kept moving while he had the chance. Even after all this time, even when he's absolutely moved on, those big eyes of Buffy's have a way of getting past his defenses.]

I'm bloody tired, Buffy. I want to stay. I just don't know if I rightly can.

[slay]

You want to stay? [ she throws her arms up. there's pitchy, hysteric exhaustion setting in. all of this is Too Much, for all of them. ] Great! Then stay.

God, maybe the reason it's so damn hard for you to walk away is because you know it's wrong.

Either way, the place we're going is safe, supposedly. Worst case, you can stay there. [ he shrugs ] Either way, we don't have time to argue. [ annnd up he goes ]

[bigbad]

My safety isn't the thing I'm worried about here.

[It's everyone else's safety. It's the safety of the world. It's that they never have time to argue. Eventually that excuse starts wearing on him. Eventually, they'll have to bloody make time, except everyone's made it clear they don't think his concerns are even worth considering so he somehow doubts they ever will.]

Fine.

[He throws his phone into the bag with perhaps more phone than is strictly necessary and stomps towards the plane, shoulders hunched.]

When the world ends because no one ever bloody listens, don't come crying to me.

Pretty sure if we fuck up now, no one will be left alive to come crying. [ with that, she exchanges a look with gar, and then makes her way up. gar gives spike a concerned and troubled look, and then glances back at jack, who nods to her to head in. she follows kat up the ramp. ]
