[ Kenzi had threatened Paige with a ladies night and of course, if anyone needed a night out it was Bo. The fact that there's also a talking Tree, a drinking Raccoon and... Drax? It's Kenzi. Why is anyone shocked by the people that she spends time with? She has ideas and they spin out of control and you just sort of hang on for the ride. It's her way. She may have casually mentioned they were coming here to a few other people, so if you happen to show up as well? The more the merrier.

The location itself isn't exactly filled with the garish glitz and glamor that a person generally associates with Vegas. Pandora has a British Pub meets modern day speakeasy feel to it. It's known for its signature cocktails with names like Panty Dropper and the Hot Little Mess and you can always count on live entertainment in the form of dancers, magicians, a band and of course, a DJ. It also happens to be one of the few clubs that has an open door policy where Shadowkind are concerned. Whether they'll be rethinking said policy after tonight? We just don't know. ]

[ Kenzi, for her part, manages to completely miss that 'something else'. She's too busy staring at their entwined hands to notice. Her gaze flickers from them, to Malina then Peter - almost like she's gaging the temperature of the table before a small smile plays across her lips and she brushes her thumb along the side of his hand.

I just... owe you a name. [ She gatecrashed their meet up she can do manners?!

Lifting her free hand in a wave - shut up, yes she waved, deal with it. ]

[She can't fix Kali's feelings about losing her best friend, or anything else that this situation but she can get Peter his ship back.]

Doesn't make our friend unbetray us, you mean. [ still bitter tho ] Have you talked to her again?

[ And she'll slip back into quiet now and let the two of them talk unless either tries to actively engage her. ]

[She isn't really interested to either, if the conversation is going to continue to be how Skye is teflon and can do whatever she needs to and expect the people she impacts to not have feelings about it.]

I figure if she has anything to say to me she knows where to find me.

I wouldn't hold my breath, if I were you. [ he finally withdraws his hand from kenzi's, just to sling his arm across the seat behind her ] So, Kenzi here knows the guys who claim to know another version of me.

Kinda like Carol. They said we had a crew together. On the Milano, actually.

[ Be super impressed that she offers no reaction other than a grin that screams 'yep sure do'.

It's entirely possible that until right now she had no idea that was more than just a troll. (WS. Nat 20).

Look she's friends with Groot who only says three words. Rocket is... Rocket - he just likes her for her booze, and Drax thinks she's a prostitute??? ]

[Malina has tangential experience with Carol, little with Groot, Rocket or Drax, but that's good to know.]

Thinking about putting a crew together now?

According to Carol and Rocket, we weren't just any crew.

They both said the same thing. That we were... Guardians of the Galaxy. [ you can practically hear the caps, and he shifts a bit in place, kenzi likely able to feel the way his shoulders roll back a bit with the name from her position ] Heroes.

Well that's hardly surprising. [ Does she need to speak? No. Does she think he needs to hear more easy acceptance of him being a hero?

[Malina points at Kenzi because that was about to be her point.]

Sounds like it's just doing what you've been doing here, but on a ... larger scale.

[The Knights don't exactly consider the entire galaxy their jurisdiction.]

[ that gets a little smile out of him, thanks both of y'all ] Right now, things are bad enough here that it seems like this is the corner of the galaxy that needs guarding.

But it's got a ring to it.

[ Kenzi glances at Malina and in an easy split decision? She's decided she likes her a lot. ]

Yeah it does. [ Her head tips back, resting against his arm and she offers him a warm smile as she angles her head to look at him.

See. She knew you weren't going to bail. ]

Plus, just think about the merchandise you could sell with that name!

[She laughs.]

I agree. On both points, but I think the latter might need some ... grass roots marketing?

[Aka gotta make a name for yourself first.]

Helping take down this Blade guy seems like one hell of a PR campaign. [ just sayin'. he looks back down at where kenzi's grinning up at him, and smiles back, fondness at her instincts for making a quick buck written across his features, along with a more generally lingering affection. ] But who knows. I'm just gonna focus on getting my ship off the ground first. [ as he tears his eyes off kenzi and looks back at malina, reaching out to pick up his glass and propose a toast, he'd honestly look closer to truly hopeful than she's ever seen him ] I'll drink to that.

[ That same affection is reflected back at him and she seems to relax fully now, what she would refer to as her idiotic grin playing at the corner of her mouth as she reaches for her own glass. ]

Now that’s a plan I can get behind. [ Raising her own. ]

[The hope is a good thing to see, after how lost he seemed following everything that's been going down with Skye. She picks up her glass as well and tips it just slightly in their direction.]

Me too.

[And hopefully things will continue to go this smoothly for at least five more minutes.]

he downs the drink after tipping it in response and drinks it down, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand after he sets it back down. skye, however, is still the lingering problem that no one wants to discuss any further, and he won't bring it up the rest of the time, but it's hard when he knows that it's on both of their minds.

eventually, they'll wind down and call it an evening, peter thanking malina again and even giving her a hug before she heads off, and before he heads back up to the room with kenzi.
