[ Kenzi had threatened Paige with a ladies night and of course, if anyone needed a night out it was Bo. The fact that there's also a talking Tree, a drinking Raccoon and... Drax? It's Kenzi. Why is anyone shocked by the people that she spends time with? She has ideas and they spin out of control and you just sort of hang on for the ride. It's her way. She may have casually mentioned they were coming here to a few other people, so if you happen to show up as well? The more the merrier.

The location itself isn't exactly filled with the garish glitz and glamor that a person generally associates with Vegas. Pandora has a British Pub meets modern day speakeasy feel to it. It's known for its signature cocktails with names like Panty Dropper and the Hot Little Mess and you can always count on live entertainment in the form of dancers, magicians, a band and of course, a DJ. It also happens to be one of the few clubs that has an open door policy where Shadowkind are concerned. Whether they'll be rethinking said policy after tonight? We just don't know. ]

[ his eyes flick up towards hers at the slight pull, and there's a look on his face like a kid who got caught with hand in the cookie jar... who just deliberately and slowly eats the cookie anyway with a shit eating grin on their face, as his tongue gives one teasing lave before he answers: ] ... Something about you pairing well with champagne?

[ It's a little hard for her to sell this chastising look when her eyes are sparkling like they are, the grin she tries to suppress winning out before it twists in response to what he's doing.

Who needs to watch what they eat when they have Peter Quill in their bed?! ]

That's fair... [ Did you even try, Kenzi? The fingers that now flatten against his scalp suggest otherwise. ] I always did like dessert first.

(Will Save Crit Fail). It's only a second later when a light shines in her eyes, at least, and rather than ease off on the tease of her hips grinding against his, she does a long, slow roll instead. Ensuring that he'd feel just how ready she is for him as she locks her gaze on his. ]

It's feeling him still above her that forces her to fully focus on him, confusion beginning to stir in her gaze because while he's barreling down an emotional path of a very different making, she's still hung up on the fact that she's just given him the go ahead to continue and yet he's inexplicably not pushing inside of her.

It's his touch that gives her pause, the way he cups her cheek and the emotion that greets her as her gaze locks on his. Kenzi managing to peel herself back from the edge, even as her body screams its silent protest at her and while it would have been very easy for her to flippantly reassure him and continue? She pulls in a slow, shaky breath. Shifting just enough beneath him to dial back the immediacy of their mutual need and she can feel herself leaning into his touch as she brushes her cheek to his palm and the hand that was trying desperately to pull him closer now flattens against his side. she doesn't need him to explain everything behind what she sees in his eyes, she knows enough to be able draw some conclusions but what helps her understand it, perhaps better than most is her own experiences growing up the way she did. ]

If... I didn't know, there were a way to make sure that it was.. safe? [ Clearly not sure how to have this conversation seriously but trying her best to give it the weight it deserves. ] Then I would say no. [ She's not sure. ] Not...Because of you -

[ This feels, utterly awkward, mostly due to the fact that she just doesn't know how to express herself on this. She's laying here with him, her body still painfully eager to move forward but this has suddenly become about more than just assuring him that they have a pill for everything. ]

[ There's a moment of sheer relief when he speaks, because it means she can finally stop. Kenzi's head tilting just slightly as he rests his forehead against hers, a silent rejection of any need for an apology. Her heart continues to hammer wildly in her chest, like it's the last part of her to attempt to recover but a part of her knows it's a little more to do with the emotional seriousness of what's just passed between them.

She can feel the release of tension in his body and her hand stretches out in search of his spine, her fingers dancing alongside the vertebrae as she instinctively tries to offer some form of reassurance. It might have broken the intensity of the moment but she can't say she's sorry that this happened. It's just another way that he shows her how much more there is to him than what he chooses to show the world. When his lips meet hers, it feels as though he's smoothing out the jagged edges that had been revealed with her rambling response. The moment holding a different kind of intensity in light of all that had passed between them that day.

It's that apology that causes her free hand to mirror his in cupping his cheek, Kenzi easing back just enough for him to be able to see her eyes as her thumb runs along his cheekbone. ]

Don't - [ A softness to that word. ] Don't ever be sorry for caring enough to be sure.... but even if it wasn't?

[ The smallest of smiles cause her lips to twitch as it tries to push its way onto her lips. Her touch becoming firmer as her hand trails down his spine. ]

We would have figured it out. You and me.

[ the tiniest smile mirrors hers but his eyes stay very serious and he watches her lips shape the words, brows knitting together a bit even as he nods gravely ] We'll go first thing tomorrow. [ there's that promise you were looking for, kenzi, not murmured in a heated frenzy, an obstacle between him and what he wants, but spoken with a real gravity and deliberation. ]

[ There's no masking the way she's affected by his words, an audible rasp of air as she inhales at hearing them and the hand that touches his cheek grows firmer against it as she exhales a shuddering breath. ] You're never going to stop surprising me, are you... [ More a belief, than a question as her tone sounds something close to awe and when she kisses him it's full of all the emotion she can't yet begin to find the words for, both tender and intense as her hand skims along his cheek to capture the back of his head. ]

he kisses her back, meeting her intensity with a growing warmth of his own as his fingers stroke through her hair. finally, he expels a soft chuckle against her lips. ]

Nope. [ it's spoken with good humor, even if it's still soft, and his tone does a nice job of breaking the tension even further ] Kinda my thing. [ he draws back to fix her with that damnable half smile of his, rendered all the more attractive when it's matched with the way he looks at her, as if the galaxy swung around a fixed point in her eyes ]

[ She can't say if its the kiss or the smile that greets her when it's over. The one that always makes her heart beat faster. Or maybe it's the way he's looking at her but it's the moment when she knows; She's not just into him. She doesn't just like him and this isn't something she could walk away from tomorrow. It might scare her and she might screw it up in a thousand different ways, but neither of those things altered the fact that when it came to Peter? She was all in.

Her hand slips free from his hair so she can lightly trace the creases at the corner of his eye, her fingertips dancing a featherlight path, under his eye, down the bridge of his nose, across his lower lip. All the while those expressive eyes of hers drink him in, full of warmth and adoration and something deeper - something she might not be ready to give voice to, but that sparks in the piercing blue of her gaze.(Will Save Crit Fail). ]

Then I guess you'll have to get used to me being around.

[ he shifts just enough to kiss the fingers tracing across his lips, before the smile slides back up his cheek. there's no indication that he's seen her deep dark secret spelled out in her eyes - just that she's looking at him with adoration, which clearly pleases him and is echoed in his own gaze. ] Think I'll figure it out somehow.

Now, before all that, where were we? [ his hand has found its way down to slide the length of her side and land at her hip as he shifts against her again so that she can feel that he's still hard enough for her despite the intervening convo. his eyes stay locked on hers as he rolls his hips enough to drag part of his length against her as a reminder ] Unless you're ready for pizza.

[ It's one thing for her to have this revelation without hyperventilating, another entirely for him to realize what's going on inside her head. This is enough, the way he's looking her and she's no longer questioning what they are to each other. She's not even waiting for him to walk out or hurt her. How can she, when he's looking at her like that?

A smile curves her lips when in answer to his words, he's drawing her attention to his still firm length, Kenzi's lips parting with the soundless groan that darkens her gaze with need. Her fingers curl at his back, pressing into muscle as she shifts just enough to increase the friction, her smile taking on a mischievous edge as her gaze momentarily dips to his mouth before locking back on his. ]
