Rescuing Rafael could have gone much worse... And then did, when Rafael, desperate to feel alive and free again, got himself into a car accident. He came out of it alright, but injured, and they headed back on a plane after a whirlwind wedding had happened the same night between Dean and Rose, which Elena and the fiendish version of Sam had dropped in on - as well as Bobby Singer. After the madness of that night, Jack sent word back to them that if they had any family that they wished to keep safe, they could bring them back to Krozna. Rafael and Isabella insisted on picking up Giorgio, Nellethiel, and their children, Giulia and Pietro. Alainn picked up quite a bit of family as well - her adoptive parents and siblings from Ireland. They return to Krozna together, where everyone can get acquainted and recover from the ordeal of their close calls in New Orleans before pressing forward. There would be months for them to train, and the pace of life in Krozna to settle in, far from the chaos of the rest of the world.

The date is now quickly approaching for the upcoming meeting at the "Darkhouse" where they hope to acquire more leads about the dagger that was used by Blade in the ritual to kill his father, Malaak'a.

This log covers all social things for Failboat between the first social log and the Darkhouse (months worth of time skip).

[As more people start to fill the halls and settle in, the residence in Krozna almost starts to feel like home. It helps, of course, that Myri is no stranger to moving on to a new place as a means of survival. But there's an easy routine that she settles into. Her empathetic and nurturing spirit is satisfied to help make the newcomers as comfortable as possible. She helps prepare most meals, cooking up big pots of warm soup to help fight back the winter chill. Shayla is often her helper in the kitchen, trotting back and forth with ingredients and wielding a wooden spoon like a weapon.

When her daughter is busy elsewhere, Myri walks the grounds to clear her head or finds a comfortable spot to sit and read. She's also taken up a dream journal to try to keep track of any messages that she might be receiving, even in the most innocuous of dreams. So you may see her scribbling some notes over breakfast. She doesn't train, really. It's just a lot of moments of quiet contemplation and trying to see what's in her magical bag of tricks that might be most useful in a coming fight.]

[ we can actually set this pretty early on after raf comes back? he will need some healing up and presumably it will be myri doing that, so eventually he will rouse from sleep as she comes in to check on him. the injuries from his car accident and from the torment he underwent have healed thanks to her, but he still looks tired to the core as he looks himself over to see how the scars have mostly gone. ]

[Myri is also curious how he's healing, so as he looks himself over, she's doing the same, making notes of any areas that she may want to keep an eye on for another day or so. She pauses at his remarks, raising an eyebrow slightly and shaking her head.]

Absolutely not. [She's got her Mom Voice (tm) out now. It's full of love and also leaves no room for argument.] I won't have anyone under my care talking like that.

Have you eaten yet today? [She gestures to the tray of assorted snacks - a chunk of bread, some cheese, some dried fruit, some nuts. Trail mix of champions, basically.]

[ the scars that have healed the worst are the ones around his throat, as if something barbed had dug into him there for a considerable time. rafael smiles and reaches for a handful of nuts ] You seem to have made yourself at home here.

[She smiles and nods, taking hold of a nearby chair and bringing it closer before she sits.] Before the Veil, I was constantly moving from village to village. And my time with the Knights hasn't exactly kept me rooted to one place for very long. This place is safer than most. And it's quiet- at least when the girls aren't pretending to slay a monster in the hallways. [She chuckles to herself]

It also helps to have you back, to know you're safe.

I would promise to never give you such cause to worry again, but we both know that is probably something I can never quite guarantee. [ it's stated with good humor, at least ] You look ... somewhat at peace. How is your young one?

Getting bigger by the day. She's spent most of our time here finding new ways to get into trouble [Motherhood suits Myri, though. And having the time and space to let her Shayla get to know her father is certainly a blessing in its own way.]

I've found ways to keep myself busy. [She had promised Rose that she wouldn't act on the impulse from her dreams until she returned. The itch is still there, but she's trained for so many years to strengthen her spirit, to not give in to that tug of her magic. As much as her dreams may trouble her, Rafael is right. She has found a sort of peace here.] And I'll certainly have no trouble finding things to do now that we've practically doubled in size around here.

These people - this place. Why are they out here?

It's safer for them to be here. [She thinks back to her conversation with Sveta- and obviously her experiences with Finnick after the Mind Master's influence. She's not sure if the larger safety is for the world or for the residents' themselves. Perhaps it has always been dual purpose. She's not sure if anyone but Wynn could truly know for sure.]

They all have their own stories, but I do not believe we are in danger here. Jack would have never suggested coming if it would bring further harm to us. And in the time I've been here, I've noticed that most of them just want to be left alone. They're skittish... wary, but they've given us sanctuary- and for that, I am eternally grateful.

I suppose we are lucky that they were here. No one has seemed to discover where you all went yet?

Not that I'm aware of. I'm not certain how long our luck will last, though.

I hope that we do not draw attention here. It seems a safe place for our families, for now.
