Rescuing Rafael could have gone much worse... And then did, when Rafael, desperate to feel alive and free again, got himself into a car accident. He came out of it alright, but injured, and they headed back on a plane after a whirlwind wedding had happened the same night between Dean and Rose, which Elena and the fiendish version of Sam had dropped in on - as well as Bobby Singer. After the madness of that night, Jack sent word back to them that if they had any family that they wished to keep safe, they could bring them back to Krozna. Rafael and Isabella insisted on picking up Giorgio, Nellethiel, and their children, Giulia and Pietro. Alainn picked up quite a bit of family as well - her adoptive parents and siblings from Ireland. They return to Krozna together, where everyone can get acquainted and recover from the ordeal of their close calls in New Orleans before pressing forward. There would be months for them to train, and the pace of life in Krozna to settle in, far from the chaos of the rest of the world.

The date is now quickly approaching for the upcoming meeting at the "Darkhouse" where they hope to acquire more leads about the dagger that was used by Blade in the ritual to kill his father, Malaak'a.

vi is doubtful lucia has many memories of that place, but vi talks about luthir enough that maybe she was able to hang on to them, maybe she underestimates the memories of a toddler because she doesn't remember being a toddler.

[ nellethiel glances up at vi to catch that shrug, but then looks back to lucia and says simply: ] That means you are very special.

[ "I'm a princess!" and the princess prances off to crawl under a table and chatter at her dolls because she has the attention span of a gnat. ]

She's Lucia, which she neglected to mention. [ because she's two and a half and this is what mother's are for. it's definitely learned because vi neglected to introduce herself. ] You must be one of Rafael and Isabella's friends.

Nellethiel Rossi. [ she extends a hand delicately for a shake ] It is wonderful to meet the people who have helped him so.

Oh, I'm Vi. [ she's so pretty, vi's gonna faint. she doesn't, bless, shaking her hand and not swooning at all. ]

And, Rafael, he's like family, we try to look after each other.

We could always use more family, especially Lu. [ vi is used to her family being distant to nonexistent, but lucia is two and a half, she still wants her papa and all her old man friends from the castle that told her stories about her papa. where is dovan, momma? where is lan and daisy, momma? where is grandpa wynn, momma?

maybe more self-proclaimed family here will make her little creamsicle (and herself) less homesick. ]

And I want to be upfront that I'm going to be super nosy because asking adult half-elves how they physically and mentally progressed as children does not work because they... were the kids. You are the ...first mom I've met that's done that whole thing and your kids absolutely adorable.

[ that brings a wider smile to her face ] I would be glad to answer your questions. I also knew Rafael and Vittorio growing up, as well as a few other half-elves as well. Unless she is half something other than human? [ i mean, she is orange ok, it's a fair question ]

Aasimar. Half elf, quarter human. We don't know why exactly she's orange but we've sort of figured it's a cautionary tale to not do magic when you're pregnant?

[ she doesn't care enough to research it more thoroughly. it's not hurting her. ]

Goddess. Roman goddess of spring in particular and-- is your house where Isabella's pony was born?

[ she has had this my mom is a goddess conversation a few times but only once before with an italian (half-) elf, she can't help remembering her very first conversation with raf, before he started helping her learn italian while they were cooped up together. ]

I guess it would be an adult pony now.

[ does vi think they all lived together in one italian villa? si. she is not a smart hero. ]

That he is, si. Their horses have lodged with us since they have left Italy. We could not bring them here, unfortunately, so they are with other friends who are staying in the country.

Rafael said I could meet them one day, when this was all over.

[ she sighs a little sadly. one day keeps looking further and further away. ]

But maybe there will be another baby pony by then.

[ teasingly: ] Guess we really have to save the world, then.

[ vi breathes out into a smile. why is she so weak for elves? they're her siren song. ]

We don't have horses, but there's loads of sheep here.

I think we're all a bit large to ride sheep.

Lucia tries. They are not fond of it.

[ many sheep have come to fear the creamsicle girl. ]

[ that makes her laugh a bit. it's a very pretty laugh. ] She certainly has spirit, doesn't she?
