Rescuing Rafael could have gone much worse... And then did, when Rafael, desperate to feel alive and free again, got himself into a car accident. He came out of it alright, but injured, and they headed back on a plane after a whirlwind wedding had happened the same night between Dean and Rose, which Elena and the fiendish version of Sam had dropped in on - as well as Bobby Singer. After the madness of that night, Jack sent word back to them that if they had any family that they wished to keep safe, they could bring them back to Krozna. Rafael and Isabella insisted on picking up Giorgio, Nellethiel, and their children, Giulia and Pietro. Alainn picked up quite a bit of family as well - her adoptive parents and siblings from Ireland. They return to Krozna together, where everyone can get acquainted and recover from the ordeal of their close calls in New Orleans before pressing forward. There would be months for them to train, and the pace of life in Krozna to settle in, far from the chaos of the rest of the world.

The date is now quickly approaching for the upcoming meeting at the "Darkhouse" where they hope to acquire more leads about the dagger that was used by Blade in the ritual to kill his father, Malaak'a.

This log covers all social things for Failboat between the first social log and the Darkhouse (months worth of time skip).

We've been at this for so long and from the outside, it looks like we got literally nothing done. Less than nothing because we lost Jade, we lost Zareth, we lost Elena and Des to Hell itself. We almost lost you. We came back from that concert with more dead knights than living.

[ abigail and alice and alanna and lydia and felicity, myri was almost broken, wynn was missing. vi almost didn't come back at all. even before that finnick had been so badly hurt... she knows loss is the nature of a mission so daunting and long term so she can work past her guilt and grief and fear, but she understands why solace and hasmed couldn't keep it up in light of wynn's disappearance. astrid had pointed it out after slovechnia and she wasn't wrong then. they don't have a track record of proven success, they have a track record of failures. ]

They asked us to step down from the mission for a fresh set of eyes, but we chose to leave. It's our mess. But-- [ a qualifier. ] I wasn't there so, grain of salt.

Well, um. Elena is married to Lucifer, the Lord of Hell. All of it, I think? Maybe just the bottom one but I think it's like all of it. So she's the Queen of Hell now. Des is married to the demon he took to my wedding, Zarad is Azrael. That dream Buffy had, ages ago? I think that was it. Whatever ceremony they did to kill their human bodies or whatever.

Des said that after Jade died, Zarad -- [ yeah she knows that's not the name but she does not care ] -- offered him clarity and peace and understanding and it just spiraled from there I guess until Italy when he broke into the Vatican to save Des. His curse broke and he freaked out and decided there was no way he could be mortal because then he wouldn't be able to help even though like everyone else on the team is mortal and we help all the fucking time even if it means we might die, but whatever, where was I? Okay, so his curse broke and after like 2000 years he took it badly, which I do actually understand, so when Zarad offered him his immortality back and companionship for forever, he took it back and became Lord Consort what the fuck ever.

You're talking about Azrael? The woman who came to him, the one who Buffy could see? That he went to her because his curse broke? How did it break? Why did he not tell us? [ welcome to the 20 questions portion of the evening ]

His curse broke because of true love? I dunno, man, Des lied about so much, so many times, and it's not like I can or am allowed to call an angel down here to fact check him and they're not exactly on the same side so it wouldn't be objective at all. This shit is from Des himself, but I had to ask.

Azrael loved him, unconditionally, and he realized that he loved her, him, them, whatever too. He finally wanted to live again or had something to live for... and it broke the curse? Something like that.

What Azrael did to him isn't love. [ like wtf tho ] He suffered for years.

Maybe he has been made to think otherwise.
