xibalba ♔ i see a storm bubbling up from the sea

WHO || Val'drin, Carol, Helen, David L, Lila [Closed]
WHAT || The Knights return to Xibalba to investigate the situation
WHERE || Xibalba, Cave of the Crystal Sepulchure, Belize
WHEN || Summer, 2018
HOW || Actionspam. Single thread.

Tasked with investigating the section of Underdark discovered by the Knights years ago that had appeared in the underground area of Belize thought to be an entrance to Xibalba, the group has traveled here thanks to new reports of drow being seen above the surface.  As promised, Val'drin has assembled some information about Lolth and Kiaransalee, two evil drow goddesses whose followers seemed to be involved in some kind of war when Christos last led a group here years ago.

They begin in the town of San Ignacio, where they approach the local police department and are led inside to speak with the officer who has been taking the calls about sightings.  He is a bald headed man with brown eyes, a sharp, stunning face, and a very short pencil mustache.

"Well.  Thank you all for coming back down for all this..."

Inventory
- Excalibur pistol + as many extra clips as they feel comfortable issuing her tbh. The last thing she wants to do is be unprepared and out of ammo
- First aid kit
- A second medical kit that's more geared towards emergency surgery (she has no problem putting this together herself if need be)
- Sources of light: flashlight, glow sticks, road flares
- climbing gear
- protein bars and bottles of water
- a backpack to keep it all in

Research
So prior to leaving, Helen would have put together some information on the sorts of creatures they were likely to encounter. With a 37 arcane lore check, she's fairly knowledgeable, but there's a ton of creatures so specific details may come up as we come across encounters. The overall vibe is that lots of undead are likely to happen, and bludgeoning weapons are a good idea (the excalibur counts as bludgeoning, for those like me who did not know that).
