xibalba ♔ i see a storm bubbling up from the sea

WHO || Val'drin, Carol, Helen, David L, Lila [Closed]
WHAT || The Knights return to Xibalba to investigate the situation
WHERE || Xibalba, Cave of the Crystal Sepulchure, Belize
WHEN || Summer, 2018
HOW || Actionspam. Single thread.

Tasked with investigating the section of Underdark discovered by the Knights years ago that had appeared in the underground area of Belize thought to be an entrance to Xibalba, the group has traveled here thanks to new reports of drow being seen above the surface.  As promised, Val'drin has assembled some information about Lolth and Kiaransalee, two evil drow goddesses whose followers seemed to be involved in some kind of war when Christos last led a group here years ago.

They begin in the town of San Ignacio, where they approach the local police department and are led inside to speak with the officer who has been taking the calls about sightings.  He is a bald headed man with brown eyes, a sharp, stunning face, and a very short pencil mustache.

"Well.  Thank you all for coming back down for all this..."

[Glancing up at the sound of his familiar voice, Helen looks over just as he sits down. She folds her hands in front of her, pen still cradled between her fingers.]

These topics aren't exactly the sort that come up frequently over dinner.

Which part? Or do you mean going in at all?

Perhaps, but I don't think the situation is going to improve if we pretend it doesn't exist. Furthermore... [She gives a quick glance to confirm that the others are distracted with their own conversations and preparations.] I'm not entirely convinced there isn't an opportunity worth exploring here. If these factions are willing to go to war with one another, what if we could redirect the aggression to a common enemy.

[She slides over her print out with all of her notes. They seem focused on trying to find aspects of both dogmas that could be used to convince them to ally with the Knights briefly to take down Blade.]

I'm certainly not suggesting it be our first thought. [She knows he's probably not going to be on board, but hey- desperate times, right?]
