[Tia knows enough about Andie already to figure that she probably doesn't want to waste any time getting started, so bright and early on Friday morning she's rapping on her door.]

[Andie barely slept the night before. Not that this is unusual for her. She's more a catnap person. Yeah, she even sleeps fast.

So basically, she's got the door open before Tia finishes her sentence.]

Hi!

[telekinect]

[If Tia's surprised, she's good at not showing it] Sleep well?

[asap]

Like a rock who's been waiting for today for like, her whole life. [...that's a sort of.] Are we training now?

[telekinection]

We're not technically supposed to until after you've been shown around, but I think with you, that step's a little unnecessary.

[asap]

[Andie grins.] Yeah, kind of been there, done that, few dozen times.

[telekinect]

So I figured we could talk about your training, and find out exactly what it is you're hoping to do. [She nods at the hall] Let's head upstairs.

[asap]

Right! Right. Um. I gotta get dressed quick first. [She's in pajamas.] Just a second!

[She closes the door and two seconds later (she overestimated herself) she opens it again.] Okay! Upstairs!

[telekinect]

... Well, that was literal. [She smiles, though, tempering her surprise and heads for the steps.] Sorry you'll have to pace yourself while I'm around.

[asap]

I will! Sorry! I'm actually pretty good about it. Like there are these meditation things my dad taught me that help me slow down and concentrate and try and keep down with you normal speed people but sometimes it's hard to remember to use them especially when I get excited or nervous or-- [She stops. Breathes. And continues in a slower voice.] You know. Get impatient.

[telekinect]

[Tia fixes her with a look of amusement out of the corner of her eye.] You're pretty pumped about all of this.

[asap]

[She shrugs, glancing away.] Been waiting for this a long time, I guess.

[telekinection]

I imagine you have a sect picked out and everything.

[asap]

I don't know. Hide kinda makes most sense since I'm not all that magical or diplomatic or smart, but you know. Whatever happens, right?

[telekinection]

We've definitely got time to figure it out.

[asap]

[Andie nods, losing herself in her own rapidfire stream of thought for a split second before she snaps out of it and glances back up at Tia.] So are we training soon?

[telekinect]

Fred'll be starting officially with you all next week or so. But if you want to get a head start... I won't tell.

[asap]

[She grins.] Cool. I mean, I've been training with my dad since forever so I guess I already sort of have one, but... cool.

[telekinection]

I'm sure what you're really buzzed for is getting out there in the field.

[asap]

[Andie nods, expression growing more serious than it usually is.]

I wanna help people. Like Mom and Dad did.

[telekinect]

[Tia falls quiet for a moment, the smile lingering on the edge of her lips, but her expression distant and thoughtful as they head up to the top of the steps. After a moment, she asks curiously:]

How old are you now, Andie?

[asap]

Nineteen. But, you know, twenty soon.

[telekinect]

You've got quite a long life ahead of you. [Not just because she's... a teenager. But you know. Aasimars can live for thousands of years.]

[asap]

[Which is really useful because it means I don't have to worry about if enhanced speed also equals enhanced aging and that kind of thing.]

Yep! And I'm totally gonna live it to the fullest and all that stuff.

[telekinect]

I've no doubt you will.

It's nice, because if you ever want to go try doing something else with your life, you won't really lose any time.

[asap]

Yeah, I'm thinking this won't be my whole thing forever. Since it could really literally get to pretty close to forever.

[telekinection]

You might even outlast the Knighthood.

[asap]

Me? Out last the Knighthood? [Andie wrinkles her nose a little and shakes her head.] No way. That'd be too weird. [Oh god, she could get so old. She's never really put thought into how weird that could get.]

[telekinect]

You could always end up being the next Wynn, even.

[asap]

What? Me? [Andie shakes her head vigorously.] Nuh uh, no way. That would be way too weird.

[telekinection]

[And she laughs as they reach the next floor] Kidding, kidding. I just wanted to make sure you were thinking ahead.

[asap]

Can I just stick with thinking ahead to next week? Next century's a little... big. [She's only nineteen. That's... kind of terrifying.]

[telekinect]

It is... but joining the Knights is a large responsibility. You're choosing to dedicate your life to the cause.

[asap]

[...gulp. Her life is a very, very long time, like Tia just pointed out.] Y-yeah. I know. It's a good cause, though! So... good?

[telekinect]

[A slight smile. She just wanted to make sure it'd really gone through her head.] Definitely the best cause.
