It's taken a few weeks to get some incredibly convincing fake IDs, etc. made up for Des, since he's kind of sort of banned from New Orleans, on top of how long it's taken to research what the building was that showed up on the magical 'map' revealed when Jade's touch activated the mysterious stone taken from the Hoffman Institute.

It appears to be the headquarters of a record label known as NOVA Records: a revelation that provoked a response from Kat and Myri, who promptly relayed to the rest of the team what they had discovered about the connection between NOVA and the Brotherhood of the Enlightenment: chiefly that the co-owner of the organization, Chad Becksworth, was donating large sums of the money privately to the Church for reasons unknown. Considering that Jade had claimed Raoul Jacobson, the man who accosted her at her club, was masquerading as a talent agent for 'some record company', it seems to all tie together somehow. Gar seems convinced that the team is hot on the trail of the talisman, which is motivation enough for Des to come along - since he doesn't want to see anyone find the thing, bt isn't about to let them run off and screw everything up.

Wynn agrees, apparently, that the lead sounds promising; promising enough that he sends Finnick to replace Sven, and to agree to send Arthur on the mission as well. WOO, progress!

As usual, being team Failboat, you guys all have to take public transportation and mail your weapons and supplies ahead to pick them up when you arrive in New Orleans. The plan is to break into teams to investigate the Louisiana State Museum and NOVA Records HQ, so once you've met the newbs, it'll be time to figure out who's going where!

[ The hotel room is uber swanky, with a common room that affords a wonderful view of the city, and then six bedrooms to be divvied up to share. And the new guys are here! Time to greet them and fill them in on all the wonderful things they've missed so far... ]

[Once everyone is settled in, time to gather up in the living room. Gar stands at the head of the room, clearing her throat to get everyone's attention.]

Well, now that we've had a moment to get caught up... we should begin discussing how we plan to approach things. The stone indicated two locations, though we have no idea what to expect to find there, so we'll have to keep a fairly... open mind. Either way, I think it will benefit us to attempt to search the museum after hours, but as for NOVA Records... we might be able to move about during their normal operating times, especially if we want to try to learn more about this Becksworth fellow and what he might be doing.

[ Buffy's commandingly dropping herself into the seat by Des because WOW SHE IS DEMANDING THIS STORY FROM HIM THAT HE DIDN'T FINISH IN THE CAR. ]

[ oh and for ota; later in the flight, she's just got her headphones in and doodling in a lined notebook. except her doodles are pretty much just big black circular pen marks so it's more like ... making pen scratches in a notebook. ]

[ Buffy's first order of business is claiming a nice room for her and Myri. She's got her priorities in order, ok. She'll throw her suitcase and weapons down onto one of the beds, bouncing onto another part of it and start digging through the drawers of the night table. Bible, blah blah, nothing that every hotel doesn't have.

Once she's done there, she'll come back out into the living area. ] So, the new additions are to replace Sven and his freaky cat, right?

[Aaaand Spike's in a shadowy corner again, doing something exciting. Possibly playing angry birds on his phone.]

[Spike's chilling out on the couch. He's already thrown his suitcase on the bed. It's sort of like being unpacked.]

This mean I've got to share a room again?

For every guy on this mission's sake, I hope not. [ roll of her eyes. ] This mean you're going to be bitching 24-7 again?

So, what, we split up or hit both as a group? 'Cause, I'm thinking eleven people anywhere all together is gonna be wicked conspicuous. If there's splitting up happening, I'm personally team museum. [ She's just naturally inclined to the after-hours business ok. Plus, NOVA sounds like ... it might involve undercover type discretion like pretending to be a journalist or caring about records and she just don't. How does she shot subtlety. ]

[Howdy y'all. Finnick comes into the room, sets his bag down, and takes a look around. ]

Is there a certain room I should be putting my things? [Looking at Spike] Besides not with him, apparently.

Mostly just pick whichever. [ She glances around. ] If I were you, IIIII'd probably stick with Arthur, though, since we're doubling up either way.

[bigbad]

[SPIKE AND BUFFY ARE COOL NOW, RIGHT? RIGHT? Oh well, he's going to assume they're cool enough for him to pause as he passes by her on his way to... idk, probably the bathroom, but he's really just restless.]

What're you drawing?

[ she doesn't stop scribbling, though her gaze narrows and her lips tighten. ] The only thing you're going to see if you keep talking to me. [ She sets her pen down on the table and holds up the big black scribble of the notebook. Get it? 'Cause you'd be unconscious? ]

[...yeah, he doesn't get it.] What, you'll paste it to my face?

[ she gives him a look reserved for the stupidest people on the planet, then reaches up to deck him. (atk 26, dmg 16 OOPS). maybe now he'll get it ... he was asking for that one. ]

[Congratulations, Buffy, you are getting weird looks from the other passengers because that sure looked like an unprovoked attack.

Spike's head bounces back and he rubs his face where she hit him.]

Right, pardon me for asking a bloody question.

[ she notices the weird looks and just groans, because spike is the biggest source of headache in her life. she slams the table up and tucks it away back into the seat in front of her, unbuckles, gets to her feet, drops the notebook on her seat, and starts shoving spike back toward the bathroom so they can not have this conversation in the aisle. except really it just looks terrible to everyone else. ]

[Oookay you could have also just said go away, he'd have gone, but he doesn't protest too much as she pushes him towards the bathroom, though... yeah, even more looks. Some people just assume they're one of those couples and they're going to have freaky, violent, mile high sex. Good job, Buffy.]

anyway, when they're back in front of the bathrooms, she grabs him by the jacket and shoves him (lightly for her) against the wall. ] What are you doing?

[He scowls at her, but doesn't try and push her off because, well, where the hell would he push her and plus, it might give him a headache.] I asked about your drawing, if it can be called that, and you decked me. Really, if either one of us has good reason to be pissed off, it's me.

Okay, the fact that you were completely asking for it aside? The talking. The ... acting like we're friends. I thought I told you to cut that out. Several times, in fact.

[Okay, now he's going to push her off, though considering his headache problems, if it takes more than gentle swatting to get her to let go... it won't work.]
