Squiring ♔ you cannot believe in honor until you have achieved it

♬ Troy - James Horner
WHO || Wynn, Wade Wilson, Scout, Faye Chamberlain, current Knights attending the ceremony
WHAT || May Squiring Ceremony
WHERE || Knights Headquarters, the Great Hall
WHEN || May 1st, 2012, 6:00PM
HOW || Actionspam
The impressively large Great Hall of the castle could easily pass as a royal throne room, with its length and the red carpet leading up to a set of steps. However, there is no throne set at the top of them, and the Hall is wide enough to accommodate hundreds of Knights, in theory. Numbers are thinner today than they were in the last month or so: a number of crises have the Knights spread across the world and so perhaps fewer than one hundred Knights stand in ranks on either side of the wide stretch of red, each wearing the traditional set of ceremonial armor in their possession.
The new squires were fitted to their armor after meeting with Wynn, and it's traditional for each to appear for the first time before the Knighthood wearing it. Each new member is assured that only a very small number of the Knights make use of their armor for other circumstances, but it does create an intimidating sense of unity as they stand shoulder to shoulder in rank and file to receive their newest pledges.
The squires are ushered in together, with a flair of orchestral music that fills the hall with as much pomp as possible. It's a lot like that last scene in A New Hope. Yeah, you thought I was going to get through an entire post being all serious, didn't you.
At the top of the steps, Wynn waits, wearing a sword on his belt that canny eyes† might recognize as familiar.
It's one hell of a long walk past all those staring, curious eyes. Luckily, it's a long musical number.
For additional dice rolling fun (optional):
† Roll or randomize a d20. Those who roll a 15 or above can spot the sword for being the exact same sword that was suspended in the statue above the Round Table, when they met with Wynn in the Prologue.
† Roll a d20 dexterity check. If your character rolls a 2 or 3, at some point during their walk they're bound to stumble. A critical fail will lead to an epic faceplant ... or worse.

The Walk
Re: The Walk
The armor wasn't as bulky as trooper armor, but she was fairly confident that it was heavier. The chain shirt alone weighed almost ten kilos. Since she'd arrived a couple of weeks ago, Scout had practiced moving normally under that unfamiliar weight and no longer had to struggle, but she still felt the sweat running down her back as she went, trying to watch everything while appearing to look straight ahead.
Her Padawan braid was neatly tied off. To make it less conspicuous, Scout had also taken the time before the ceremony to plait the rest of her hair into similarly-sized braids, though they were all a little thicker and shorter, and lay neatly against her head instead of swinging proud like it did.

So she just inclines her head, almost a bow-from-the-neck, in passing, and tries not to worry.]

Damn those critical fails.
[AND HE'S UP and... whistling casually in a completely dissonant way that has nothing to do with the music that's actually playing.]

[Faye mutters as she scoffs and steps around him to continue towards the front of the room.]
no subject
[This makes all kinds of sense, yes.]

I'm not the one who tripped over their own feet. How about from now on, you stay out of my way. Got it?
[Because causing a scene is no concern of hers, really.]

Can I help you?
[And without waiting for an answer, she continues her angry march to the front of the hall. It's not your fault, Scout. She's just not in a great mood.]

[Scout says that without sarcasm or hurt, just hoping she's not making enemies already.]

You're not hurt, right? [She doesn't think so, but it's a social kind of thing to say.]

The Ceremony
Wade Wilson. Tallisibeth Enwandung-Esterhazy. Faye Chamberlain.
Kneel. And repeat this oath.
Pledge
"I swear to defend the Knighthood."
"I swear that I shall protect all weaknesses and shall constitute myself the defender of them."
"I shall not recoil before mine Enemy."
"I shall make war against injustice, without cessation and without mercy."
"I shall never lie, and shall remain faithful to my pledged word."
"I shall be generous, and listen to and respect all."
[And finally, in ringing tones:]
"I shall be everywhere and always the champion of the right and the good against injustice and evil."
[optional rolling; roll a D20 Wisdom check in order to see if your Knight can remember the phrases properly or not so much.]

"I shall be everywhere and always the champion of the right and the good against injustice and evil....with liberty and justice for all. Amen."

[Scout conquers the urge to sideye the man besides her and speaks too quietly for her voice to carry far. She gets most of it right but slips up on "I shall never lie, and shall remain faithful to my pledged word", saying instead the Jedi Order's remarkably similar "I will practice honesty and honor my promises." It's a slip she won't notice until later; she's focused on the moment.
After everything, it hurts to say these things. It hurts to reveal again the essential part of her that she's had to hide to survive. It hurts to do that, knowing that this is as close as she'll ever come to ever seeing the Order she loves so dearly. It hurts.
So even though she controls her voice and face so neither crack, and she doesn't burst into tears, Scout's eyes are overbright and her expression is frozen.]

I swear to defend the Knighthood.
I swear that I shall protect all weaknesses and shall constitute myself the defender of them.
I shall not recoil before mine Enemy.
I shall make war against injustice, without- blah blah blah
Look. We get it. I'll play nice and do good things. Good... boring things. Are we done here?

I like that one. Can she be my squire?

In your dreams.
Dubbing
You may rise: Sir Wade Wilson. Sir Tallisibeth Enwandung-Esterhazy. Sir Faye Chamberlain.
[The moment the squires begin to rise, the entire hall bursts into a frenzy of cheers, applause, hoots and hollering that's practically deafening. It quiets a bit when Wynn speaks again.]
We ask you to join us tonight in celebration of our newest members in the ballroom.
Re: Dubbing
The sudden clamor of voices startles her, makes her hand twitch towards her concealed lightsaber hilt, broken though it is and all but inaccessible under chain mail. She's too tense, Scout tells herself. The evening's just begun and she's jumping at things.]
