[Francesca figures it's been a couple weeks since her resurrection and she should probably meet with Wynn to discuss it all. She's also slightly concerned with some peoples' reactions to her death and wants his advice.

So, she sets up a meeting time with him and heads to the formal Round Table Room at the appropriate time.]

[She looks back up at him, confused.] Being alive, as opposed to dead, isn't really all that complicated. But I take it you're referring to actually living, and not just breathing.

[wynn]

Precisely. [ He traces one hand across the grooved surface of the table, the words etched there. ] To live is to struggle, to aim towards peace but rarely find it, and to find acceptance in the small victories.

[socialgraces]

I've been settling for all that for over a century now. What about the things that make life worth the struggle? What about family, what about love? [She seems to be asking herself these questions as well as directing them at him. She knows that's how he works these conversations anyway.] Unfortunately, it's not something that can be forced, or really even chosen. You just have to wait.

[wynn]

I don't imagine it was merely your death that stirred these thoughts on. You've been having them for some time.

[socialgraces]

I felt as if something was missing, yes. All of this merely put it into perspective I suppose. Made it seem more urgent.

But perhaps it's a crazy notion, especially given what I am. And what I do.

[wynn]

No one has asked you to forsake your personal desires to be a member of this organization.

[socialgraces]

[She instantly tenses.] I know, that's not what I meant. I just meant personally I don't know what I'm expecting.

[wynn]

That, unfortunately, I cannot tell you.

[socialgraces]

I didn't expect you to. [She looks down sheepishly.] I just over-think everything.

And I'm not really sure why I'm talking to you about all this. [She smirks at her ridiculousness.] I really just came here for a debriefing.

[wynn]

Then let's debrief. [ He gestures to a chair. ]

[socialgraces]

[She pulls out the proffered chair, sitting up straight, legs together. She watches him take a seat (assuming he's not going to awkwardly hover over her).] The mayor had agreed to work with us before his death. But I'm sure you've already been made aware that. As well as any other intel I may have gathered.

[wynn]

[ yeah he takes his own ]

I'd still like to hear it in your words.

[socialgraces]

When I met with the mayor, his distrust of drow was apparent. He didn't even register my presence in the room until I made it known that I was the negotiator.

But he actually wasn't that hard to persuade, especially given his obvious fear and uncertainty with the situation in general. It was easy enough to convince him that he really didn't understand what he was dealing with.

When the secret meeting took place a few days later, he was moved enough by our arguments to make his own against his fellow leaders. Not that many of them trusted his opinion.

[wynn]

Do you know what they intended to do?

[socialgraces]

Military strike from the sounds of it. On both Shadowkind settlements. They didn't trust of any it.

Then one man spoke up suggesting they work with the drow. Make them an offer to get them to stop attacking. Of course, it caused quite the outrage.

[wynn]

It's possible he wasn't the only official who had fallen under their sway. There may still be more in the capitol.

[socialgraces]

I would think that's entirely possible. But I would also assume they're on high alert for any signs of treachery now.

[wynn]

Which any drow to which they're reporting will be aware, and advise them, perhaps, in the art of subtlety necessary to avoid suspicion.

[socialgraces]

I would suspect they were quite taken aback by the unexpected casualties they suffered. [She averts her gaze for a fraction of a second before meeting his again.] So whatever measures they choose to utilize, they'll be making even more effort to wipe out the human city.

I think the sun elves will be suspicious of anything that might signal drow interference and respond accordingly. Not that that won't cause some tension among the two cities, but it will at least keep everyone on high alert.

Were you considering sending more Knights, aside from Luthir's return?

[wynn]

Some, yes. But none who were involved in this last mission. For reasons I imagine might be obvious.

[socialgraces]

[She nods, the reasons quite obvious. She wasn't volunteering anyway.

Her gaze seems to drift off for a couple moments.] Christos told me all the assassins were dead, but he didn't tell me what happened. [She focuses back in on him, expectantly.]

[wynn]

As I've heard it, he ... dispatched them mostly himself.

[socialgraces]

He... how? [But then she's not so surprised. He is the most amazing person in the whole world.] Do you think that's why he might be so upset, because he had to clean up my mess? Or because I was killed by those he could easily dispatch?

[wynn]

I think it more like he dispatched them the way he did, because he was so upset.

[socialgraces]

The way he did...? [She takes a moment to mull over the possible implications of that statement before moving on to the even heavier part.] He was there when I woke up, in the cleric's wing. [She looks down at her hand, reminiscing.] He told me he was just glad I was alive... [She's not sure where's she's going with all this, except in circles, so she shakes it off. For now.]

The drow said their plan was to enslave the humans, which isn't surprising. They wanted to know what my name was, and for some reason I just couldn't myself to tell them.
