[ It took a few weeks to process Finnick's fake background paperwork and get his contract with NOVA in order. In the meantime, Burt's been keeping in close touch with Finnick and Des, arranging for different talent coaches to work with their new star on singing, dancing, and all that other crap. He's sent plenty of songs home with Finnick to start learning, and now that everything's processed, he's arranged for him to come to the studio, where he'll be reporting daily to work.

Of course, this gives the Knights the ideal in, as what celebrity doesn't need an entourage? Mark even bought everyone outrageous entourage clothing to wear. 8) You like it. ]

[Club memory magic is so convenient. Spike's gonna go ahead and risk them seeing him. He creeps up behind them (move silently 14).]

[scratchfever]

[ heading up the steps takes him out of view of the glass momentarily, as the door that leads to the booth is solid. when he makes it to the top step, however, it's thrown open inward, and there's miss claws herself, staring down at him. there's a flicker of recognition on her features, as she stares at him. ]

You were very foolish to come here. [ she seems to have some sort of vaguely eastern european accent going on. ]

[bigbad]

[Oops. So much for that plan, and him with a pretty terrible position for a fight.]

And why's that?

[scratchfever]

[ her hand moves quickly, those super long claws suddenly poised under spike's chin. ] Come in.

[bigbad]

[Well, that's kind of intimidating. Spike's pretty sure this is a bad idea, but it also seems like his best shot of finding out what's going in. So warily he steps through the door.]

What long nails you've got there, Grandma.

[scratchfever]

[ she gives him a Look and then moves backwards with him. the tattooed guy has turned around in his seat and pushes the chair backwards to get to his feet as she closes the door. ]

Is this him?

[ the man stares at him for a long moment before nodding.

"One of them." ]

[bigbad]

Great, we know me. Care to tell me who you lot are?

[scratchfever]

[ the big man approaches him, and scowls. ]

We'll ask the questions.

What has brought you to New Orleans?

[bigbad]

The food and local scenery. [Bluff check: 6, he ain't even trying.] What's with her nails?

[scratchfever]

[ the man just continues to stare at him, lip curling up into a cruel smile. "Asha."

on cue, she moves her claws to spike's back, right at his shoulder blades. they prick into his skin and she holds them there, an obvious threat.

meanwhile the man walks closer to him, searching his face closely.

"Are you Shadowkind, boy?" ]

Right. [He leans forward, slamming his elbow back into her stomach (atk 20, dmg 11), then whirls around to face the two of them.] I don't like being threatened.

[...and hey, no headache. He looks a little surprised for a moment, then smirks. This'll be fun.]

[scratchfever]

[ it apparently takes her entirely by surprise, and her claws slip off from him as she stumbles back, hitting the door. angrily, she swipes forward at his head, but too wide, and the man reaches out quickly as if to grab her wrist before she takes Spike's head off, but his hand gets in the way. he lets out an angry howl, as one of his fingers hits the floor.

"You bitch." ]

[bigbad]

Cutting up your allies. There's a brilliant plan. [Also damn, those are some intense claws. He should probably be careful. Maybe if he were smarter, he'd run, but there's still more he wants to know.]

Let's try this again. Who are you? [He tilts his head a little as his fangs come out, transforming his face into a terrifying (intimidation 22 aww yeah) sight.] Don't make me ask twice.

[scratchfever]

[ his weird ass bumpy face really seems to unnerve her. that shit just ain't right. the other guy is clutching his hand and cursing, and glares at spike, seeming unfazed, however, and speaks up before she can answer.

"You'll have a hard time asking when you're dead, freak," he spits. asha glances at him out of the corner of her eye. ]

I thought you didn't want him dead. [ her tone is careful, and only seems to piss him off more.

"The boss wouldn't. But accidents happen." ]

[bigbad]

And what'll you do about it? Bleed on me? [He turns to the woman because she seems a) more intimidated, and b) like the one with big scary claw hands that can do a lot more damage than a severed finger.] What boss?

[scratchfever]

[ the moment he turns around, the guy takes his attack of opportunity, slamming an elbow into the back of spike's head (attk 22, dmg 7). the woman jumps backwards, and it's unclear whether she's more afraid of spike or the guy. ]

You don't know? [ her eyes dart to the man behind spike, as if this calls for re-evaluating the situation. ]

[bigbad]

[Ow. X( Spike's head bounces back quickly and he glowers at the guy, but doesn't attack him back. He looks too human and THEY'RE TALKING OKAY.]

What did I say about bleeding on me? [He looks at the girl, though he keeps an eye on the guy as well.] I don't know who you are. [A beat.] Or what, come to think of it. How would I know who you work for? [He has his suspicions, of course. ...because they seem like bad guys, so they probably work for the bad guys. Best logic!]

[scratchfever]

[ she fixes him with a hard stare, but then nods slightly, looking beyond him at the man. ]

He's telling the truth. [ the man lets out something of a low growl, as if he'd rather that not be true. this is more complicated. finally, she asks: ]

What do you want with Eterna Jade?

[bigbad]

I'm just a really big fan. I was hoping for an autograph. [Bluff check: 18, so it comes out pretty sincere sounding even though he wasn't really trying.]

[scratchfever]

[ wow and they both believe him. entirely. they lock eyes as if having a private conversation before she nods sharply and the man yanks open the door. ]

Get out. Before we change our minds.

[bigbad]

[...he sure didn't expect that to work. Still, he hesitates.] I answered your question, it's only fair you answer mine. Who are you? And who's this mysterious boss?

[scratchfever]

We work for Mr. Becksworth. That's all you need to know.

[bigbad]

[He gives her a suspicious look because it's pretty clear she's not telling him everything, though he isn't sure she's exactly lying... but she's not going to talk. Maybe when Dumage gets back, she can find out more. Spike's just going to get out of here with minimal damage. He shakes off his gameface and backs out the door, watching the two of them warily.]

[scratchfever]

[ and they watch him from the booth above, through the clear window, as if making sure he intends to leave. ]

[bigbad]

[Spike does leave, running over what he's just found out, and goes out to find Mark.]
