[Wynn had explained to Vanille upon their first meeting that the Knight she would be squired to was currently on a mission, and would be returning within a few days, but told her little more about him. When she wakes on Saturday morning, she'll find a note attached to the outside of her door in elegant script, asking her to meet in the front lobby around 1pm.

It's just down the hall, so a very easy find, and there's only one person standing there when she arrives, beside the Knight working the desk.

He presents a hulking figure, easily seven feet tall, with hands that looks like claws clasped behind his back. As he turns to look at her, it's clear just how far his inhuman appearance extends. Ridged spines form his brow, golden tendrils hanging down from his cheeks almost like mustachios. A fine dark golden mane winds around his face like a beard, some of which is carefully braided. He wears a dark red robed lined in white fur, and there's jewelry evident on his fingers and around his neck. He fixes his gaze on her, and his eyes seem to smile.]

[She arrives right on time, not necessarily out of courtesy or because she wants to make a good impression, but because she doesn't have anything else to do and finds herself bored and restless. Upon first sight of her Knight, she's incredibly intimidated, and has to take pause.

She gulps as she looks him over, but realizes that if he's a Knight, he's one of the good guys. So she stands upright and hurries her way on in closer to him, offering him a bright smile and a wave.

And standing this close, she can see the look in his eyes isn't terrible at all. He looks quite nice, actually!]

I didn't keep you waiting, did I?

[This comes out sounding more nervous than she originally had hoped, and the look on her face says she instantly regrets asking that, since she knew for a fact that she was on time.]

[He doesn't surprised whatsoever but her moment of hesitation. Probably because looking like a gigantic freakazoid, he gets that a lot. And her genuine smile seems to please him. Still, he doesn't make any sudden movements as she gets close, though his face curves into a real smile.]

Not at all! [His voice is gravelly and deep as shit, but still manages to feel soothing and friendly. Just like James Earl Jones and Barry Manilow somehow manage. Magic.]

You must be Vanille. I'm delighted to meet you. [He bows his head in a polite gesture]

[She nods eagerly, folding her hands together and placing them right above her chest. His voice is so deep and rumbly it causes her to lean back just a bit, but it's also oddly reassuring and soothing so she's left confused about how to properly react to him.

So she just does what Vanille does best and acts like nothing at all is bothering her and she's on uppers 24/7.]

That's me, the one and only.

[Her arms flail a little as she becomes much more animated and strikes a pose, grinning.]

And you must be my Knight, right?

[Oh, look, she rhymed. It gets a giggle out of her, anyway.]

So Wynn tells me! [A rumbling chuckle emerges from his chest again that sounds more like a distant roll of thunder] Though that was all he mentioned, so I'm afraid I'll have to hear the rest from you. But it's always better, don't you think, to learn these things first hand.

[oerban]

The rest?

[She gulps, unsure of what else he wants to hear or know about. She looks a little uneasy, almost as if she's skittish enough to just take off running.]

You want to know about me, then?

[She can handle that, maybe. It't can't be that hard to talk about yourself, except the part where it is and it makes you entirely uncomfortable and all you want to do is lie.]

I agree, it's better to learn things first hand, but maybe it's even better to learn them by watching. You know, when we're...

[She pauses, blinking a bit.]

Um. What is it exactly that we're going to be doing?

[koraith]

[His eyes light up, as if he had forgotten about this until she reminded him] Ah! I imagine there's quite a bit you don't know yet, yes. I suppose we'll have plenty of time to get to know one another. I'm meant to be your sort of guide as it were to how we do things around here, and once you feel comfortable, you'll be coming with me out into the field on real missions!

[oerban]

There's a lot I don't know, but I try to act like there isn't.

[She purses her lips, and rubs at her chin a little. She probably assumes the gesture makes her look crafty or smarter, but it only serves to reassure anyone around that she has ADHD and can't hold still for longer than three seconds.]

But-!

[Her hands clap as she clasps them together, and she rocks forward to rest on her toes.]

I say we try a real mission now! How hard can they be if the two of us are working together, right?

[koraith]

[He laughs at her admission] Not a bad way to do it! Confidence is the key, they say. It's all about making a good impression.

[But he seems very surprised by her eagerness] Ha, ha, well our orders come from Wynn, so I'm afraid we can't just pull a mission out of thin air. I'm glad to see so much enthusiasm, though. Reminds me of being young.
