[[ Several of the Knights discovered a secret room hidden in Nova Headquarters, full of strange occultish paraphernalia and guarded by monstrous warriors. Amid this was direct evidence of an interest in the Talisman. They also took captive Chad Becksworth's personal assistant, Olean Gilbert, who has information about the location of the mysterious woman that Burt told Finnick about - the one whose presence has had a major effect on Chad's personality. Olean doesn't even know the woman's name, calling her the "Mind Master", and identifying her as Chad's 'advisor'.

The Knights also discovered that the other Dragon's Claw, Sir Jack Chessing, had followed his own secret mission to Nova Headquarters, and he'll be meeting back at the hotel with them to explain what brought him there...

This log covers any non-work related shenanigans the Knights have while staying in New Orleans, immediately following the last log and extending over the next two weeks.

Not really.

[Myri hasn't been as chatty as normal this time around anyway.]

I was worried about you.

Even if I did go out on my own, I can handle myself. [ her tone is a little defensive, maybe more so than usual. she just seems on edge. ]

[witchwoman]

Of course you can. [She says quietly, calmly.] Kat, what's going on?

[Of all the friends she's made since joining the Knights, she always felt like she could talk to Kat. She trusted her more than anyone else in this world. And all she knew right now was that something was severely wrong.]

[shootfirst]

Revenge fantasies never work out quite the way they do in your head.

[witchwoman]

What? You wanted to get revenge on someone?

[She's really clueless and now officially really worried.]

The jackass handcuffed to our hotel room.

I used to know him.

[witchwoman]

Oh. [Of course Myri had seen the man but wth all the commotion, she hadn't received the full story of who he was.

Now Myri knew that Kat could be pretty feisty, but this seemed... different. It made her skin crawl in an all-too familiar way.] Did he hurt you?

[shootfirst]

[ it's a simple question, but something in the twist of her lip makes it seem like the most complicated one to answer. ] He tried. In the end, I was the one who actually beat his ass down with a bat. I'd do it again in a heartbeat too. Even if it meant another night in the slammer.

[witchwoman]

[And there's one of the biggest differences between Myri and Kat. She admired the woman's strength. She can't imagine ever harming the man who had tracked her for her whole life. And yet the way Kat is acting now reminds her a great deal of how she felt whenever she knew he was close.]

He can't hurt you here, Kat. We have him. No one's going to let him do anything.

[shootfirst]

[ kat's expression turns angry for a split second ] I'm not worried about him hurting anyone. He's a weak old man, and the only reason he almost got away with what he did was because he used to have power over me. But now I'm the one with the power. And after all this time going out there to find it, I can't even do anything with it. I just have to sit there and let that bastard live.

[witchwoman]

[Myri just blinks, pulling back into herself. She understands the outburst but she wasn't expecting it.]

I... I'm sorry.

[shootfirst]

... No, I'm sorry. I shouldn't lash out at you about it, you didn't do anything.

He's just... he's the worst kind of scum, ok? He used his possession as a teacher to try to blackmail teenage girls into doing sexual favors for him. Does that answer your question?

[witchwoman]

That's awful. [She would have never pegged Kat to be anyone's victim, and honestly all it does it make her look up to the woman more.]

I can imagine how difficult it must be to have him here.

[shootfirst]

He's the reason I wound up with the Knights in the first place. I was looking for a way to make sure he got what he deserved. But then he slipped right through the cracks, just to show up like this, where I can't touch him.

[witchwoman]

The others won't just let him go, Kat. They can't. But we aren't here to murder a man... no matter how much he might deserve it.

[shootfirst]

So what are we going to do with him, eventually?

[witchwoman]

I'm... not certain. [She admits, looking down briefly.] I don't know how things work here in regard to that sort of thing.

[shootfirst]

Maybe he'll get locked up in the dungeon back home.

[witchwoman]

Locked up is good. Locked up where he can't hurt anyone else.

[shootfirst]

Wynn's not big on playing jailer for very long, though.

[witchwoman]

So we use the time we have to come up with a better plan. We'll think of something. [She reaches out and grabs Kat's hand and squeezes.] Together.

[shootfirst]

[ she glances over at the hand ] It's probably a good thing you're your own Knight now. This isn't exactly great mentor behavior.

[witchwoman]

[Myri smiles warmly.] You're handling it better than I would. All the times I've been faced with the man who wanted me dead, I simply fled.

You fight- for your life, for your future, for the sake of others. I think that might fit the mentor role, don't you?

We teach each other different things. We help each other... because we're family.

[shootfirst]

... I'm not a big hugger, but I might make an exception if you promise not to tell.

[witchwoman]

I wouldn't tell a soul.
