[[ Several of the Knights discovered a secret room hidden in Nova Headquarters, full of strange occultish paraphernalia and guarded by monstrous warriors. Amid this was direct evidence of an interest in the Talisman. They also took captive Chad Becksworth's personal assistant, Olean Gilbert, who has information about the location of the mysterious woman that Burt told Finnick about - the one whose presence has had a major effect on Chad's personality. Olean doesn't even know the woman's name, calling her the "Mind Master", and identifying her as Chad's 'advisor'.

The Knights also discovered that the other Dragon's Claw, Sir Jack Chessing, had followed his own secret mission to Nova Headquarters, and he'll be meeting back at the hotel with them to explain what brought him there...

This log covers any non-work related shenanigans the Knights have while staying in New Orleans, immediately following the last log and extending over the next two weeks.

[OKAY FINE. He rolls his eyes a little.] Just tell me about the demons.

[slay]

[ she bristles subtly, defensive. ]

What about them? You saw them. Big, scaly, slimy. Unpleasant.

[bigbad]

Yeah, I saw them. And you did. No one else. Why? And how'd you know about them?

[slay]

Because that wasn't the first time I've seen them. [ she says it with an air of 'duh.' ]

[bigbad]

[That's not surprising.] When was the first time?

[slay]

When we were here before. [ she dusts herself off, then goes to grab her water bottle to give her something to fidget with and a reason to look away from him. ] I let Jack know. There's a good chance that whatever the Brotherhood and Nova are up to, they're responsible for the infestation.

[bigbad]

[It makes sense.] Probably. Why can we see them and no one else?

[slay]

Probably because you're not that far off from a demon. [ she pointedly doesn't mention her own case. she's not entirely sure - demon slayer, maybe. but there's nothing that says that can't be anyone. she wants to pretend that it hasn't occurred to her that she and spike share uncanny abilities, and he's a short hop from demon himself. ]

[bigbad]

[It's okay he'll point it out for her. :-) ] But you're not a demon.

[slay]

You're right. I'm stronger, and - no offense - faster than one. And I don't know what that makes me.

[bigbad]

[He's not offended. It's true, and he's seen her in action often enough that he's not about to disagree.]

Maybe you're what kills 'em.

Buffy Summers, demon slayer. Not sure I want that one to stick.

[bigbad]

I don't know, has a certain ring. [He tilts his head, giving her a thoughtful look.] Slayer. Sounds all tough. [Which is appropriate.]

Just what every gal wants to be. [ there's a dryness in her tone, but there's something eerily like deja vu about how he says it. she shakes her head. ] I'm gonna go hop in the shower.

[bigbad]

[It also sounds right. Sort of fitting. He nods, going to grab the bag Buffy had knocked down.] Guess I'll have to finish by myself, then.

[slay]

[ wow sound more sexual. ]

Fin ... ish ... [ there's a hazy confusion in her tone and expression like he can't possibly be talking about what she thinks he's - ] Oh! [ she spies the bag. ] Right. Finishing - obviously. I'm just ... I'm gonna go. [ she gulps, puts up a broad smile, and then turns to make a hasty escape. ]
