The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ he affixes her with an unnervingly intense stare as if somehow he knows exactly who and what she's on about ] All that's required is the true will to better oneself, in service to others.

The capacity for great good.

And how do you tell who fits that bill? 'Cause this is an awful lot to be riding on your gut. [ take it from her, ok, her gut has often been wrong. ]

You'll be living in a community of diverse talents, Sir Swan. Complete with telepaths, empaths, and paladins who can sense evil intention just by sharing a room with someone.

My gut, as you say, is more than sufficient.

[uncurse]

Telepaths. You mean like reading minds?

[wynn]

[ he nods. yep. that's all you get. ]

[ goddamn, wynn, s-so stoic. ]

Sounds kinda iffy. Couldn't you fool something like that with magic? Have they ever been wrong?

[wynn]

[ he smiles very slightly to himself ] Nothing is infallible.

But in my long years, I have found that the most dangerous of all creatures is the one who believes that there is no redemption to be had for them. That evil is the only path that will have them.

[ he turns his gaze upon her ] Many of her Knights have spotted histories, Sir Swan. All of them are welcome here, to find a way to move beyond them without fear of being constantly scrutinized.

That does not mean they are not. But they need not be aware of it.

[uncurse]

[ there's a pause as realization captures her expression, and the edge of an impressed smirk tugs the corners of her lips. her eyes widen and then her expression settles into something more understanding and she nods. ]

Right.

[wynn]

It's a system that has held the Knighthood intact for centuries.

[uncurse]

Well. I'll let you get back to your scrutinizing, then. Wouldn't want to interrupt your process.
