The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[YEAH GOOD JOB CHARMING THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN CREEPY. Hook isn't particularly put off by his lack of interest, tbh. It just means less competition. Of course, the bit where Emma sort of hates him makes doing more than looking seem unlikely, but Hook's an optimist.]

Hook. [He nods his greeting.] Why did you join, then? If not for... socialising.

[Stereotypical hero status. Yep.]

[Hook scoffs.] How noble. Suppose the pay check doesn't hurt either.

[He shrugs, not even denying it.]

And the honour and glory?

Well... those are nice perks. I never said it wouldn't be fun.

[Hook doesn't know the term "boy scout," but if he did, that's the word he'd be derisively using right now. Instead, he just scoffs.] I'm sure.

[His smile drops at that, noticing that tone a little more.]

So you just joined to meet women?

[Hook rolls his eyes, looking no less judgy.] Of course not. Just one of the perks.

Besides, I knew her from before.

[That catches his attention.] Before what? Before the ceremony?

Did you two... [He's wildly guessing because they were squabbling at the ceremony and this guy just talks the language of wink-wink-nudge-nudge or something.] Date?

No. [But he doesn't seem too broken up about it, judging by the smirk.] Not yet anyway.

Sorry to be the one to tell you, pal, but she didn't seem that interested.

She's not one for wearing her heart on her sleeve, I'll grant you that.
