The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Ah, but now I've got the power of the knights at my disposal. [He gestures at the room grandly.] I'm sure they'd protect me from any mischief.

Phrasing it that way almost makes it sound as if you wish to hide behind them, which I'm sure isn't what you mean. [ actual troll princess ]

[RUDE.] Hardly. But I've learned the value of a good crew to back you up.

Well, that we can certainly offer.

Knew I was in the right place. [He smirks at her.] Maybe I'll be put in your crew.

Funny, everyone around here seems to think mine does. [He knows there are stories about him that have passed out of his world. But it's happened enough now that it's gone from flattering that they've heard of him to annoying that they don't bloody believe who he is.]

[ she interprets that as everyone thinking you are so dumb that to send you out alone without a dragon's hoard member is akin to sending you on a suicide mission. but she won't say that part. ] Oh?

Yeah. I'm everyone's favourite storybook villain. Or haven't you heard of Captain Hook?

[Of course, Belle would have been in stories too, being an Enchanted Forest girl herself. But Hook saw no reason to tell her that. Especially since he had no clue what tale she'd be in. Emma would know.]

It sounds a bit familiar, but I can't place where. I've tried to read as many of this world's stories as possible since I arrived, but there's countless tales that have been told.

You're not missing out. The tales they tell of me aren't particularly accurate. [At least, not as far as he remembers. If they were, he'd probably get more of the jokes people told.]

I suppose, then, you'll have to prove them wrong.

Shouldn't be hard. Storybook me doesn't seem all that impressive. And I certainly am.

Oh yes. This isn't the first world I've visited. Not by a long shot.

You've traveled between planes before? [ well now she's interested ] Would you tell me about them?
