The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Typical of Ms Swan. Let me guess- she wanted information about me?

She seemed quite interested in your magical prowess.

[Thaaat gets a weird look.] Really.

I take it that surprises you. You seemed entirely unaware of your abilities when you first came to us.

I'm more surprised that it doesn't surprise her, to be honest. Never there was a bigger skeptic than Emma Swan.

[eldritchweaver]

Skeptical of magic, you mean?

[undealt]

Just in general. [He'd teased her about joining the Dragon's Fire, but only because the idea of teaching her magic just seemed hilarious to him somehow.] But one would think magic would certainly rank lower than most things on a scale of believably.

Only when one comes from a world without it.

Well, that's Storybrooke. Say what you will about small towns, but there's nothing truly magical about them. [He frowns over at Emma.] She has been behaving a bit differently than I'd expect her to.

How so?

The fact that she's asking about my magical aptitude and not whether or not I've made any illicit deals with anyone since I've been here, for starters. Not that I have or have ever had a mind to, but I would've thought that would be her first concern.

[eldritchweaver]

That would seem an odd concern for her to evince, unless she had some reason to.

That's the glamorous life of a small town pawnbroker for you. And her definition of illicit is a bit more rigid than mine.

Do you claim to have given her no reason to mistrust you as she does?

[He thinks about that long and hard.]

Well, I may not have been entirely honest at times, but I've never lied to her.

We have a complicated relationship. [Look, he's avoiding the fact that she does have legitimate reasons to distrust him. He just doesn't think she's being entirely fair about it.] But I don't doubt we can work past it here.
