The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Faye, on the other hand, is finding this so amusing. She had watched the blonde and the pirate interact before she had approached him at all. Really she couldn't have lucked out better than this. While they're busy shouting at each other, she moves to grab her dress and underthings, dressing quickly because this isn't her first rodeo.]

You said we needed a room. [She says to Hook, expertly zipping her dress and adjusting it. She turns to Emma and flashes a fake, sweet smile.] Sorry, princess. Luck of the draw.

Yeah, I find that hard to believe. [ emma's voice is sharp and intolerant. her eyes flicker to faye; she's both grateful that she's already got her closed on and baffled she could feel anything like gratitude in this moment. mostly, though, her expression just holds contempt and impatience. ] Just - Just get out. [ she looks back to hook. ] Both of you, just get out of here.

[ she wants to stop herself, wants to shut herself up while she's still pissed and the hurt hasn't crept through but it's not happening because a squeaky, pitchy edge enters her shout and she keeps going. ]

Are you kidding me? Is this - Is this supposed to be funny? Are you pissed, is this some - some attempt to get back at me for earlier? I reject you, so you decide to screw some little girl in my bed? God, are you ten?! What the hell is wrong with you?

That's not-- I didn't know! [He grabs his pants and yanks them up, still talking to her.] You said I should find someone else. Wasn't about you at all!

[Faye stops dead at Emma's words, stepping over to the two bumbling idiots as they continue to yell at each over nothing. She levels her gaze on Emma and speaks in a cold, even tone (intimidate 26. sometimes it is scary how she really is the love child of dumage and gold.)]

I would watch what I say if I were you. Or haven't you figured out yet that not everyone here is what they seem? This little girl could make you beg for mercy if she wanted. So instead of throwing a tantrum, why don't you just call for room service to wash the sheets. [She looks over her shoulder to Hook.] It's been fun, but I'm not really interested in dealing with your crazy ex. Have fun with that.

[And she is just going to sway her way to the door now~]

[ the intimidation sufficiently prevents emma from following her (at least until she has the chance to ask gold about who she was), but it doesn't stop her from letting hook have it. ]

Don't feed me that bullshit. You really expect me to believe it just happened to be my room you stumbled into. [ yeah she ... legit crit failed her sense motive check. ] Get out. Get the hell out.

[Yeah, there is... no saving this. He gives her a last chagrined look as he pulls on his shirt and heads for the door, snagging his boots on his hook.]

[ she waits until the door slams behind him to let the weight sink in her chest. she exhales heavily, scrubbing her hands over her face, ignoring the wetness in her eyes, and then moves to rip the sheets off the bed with the hurried lack of ceremony of someone far more deeply affected than they'd like to let on. she just wants it over with so she can stop thinking about it. ]
